Ashland, Massachusetts Jun 3, 2024 (Issuewire.com) – Jon Fetherston was recently elected as President of WACA TV Corporation. Fetherston was unanimously elected by the WACA TV Board of Directors. Fetherston has a long history with WACA TV. Fetherston started hosting the program All Politics is Local on WACA TV, 15 years ago, when he was serving as the Chairman of the Ashland Board of Selectman. The program has always focused on how the decisions made on the local level have far greater impacts on families and communities than decisions made by the federal government. All Politics is Local is a two-time winner of Best Program by the Alliance for Community Media. The station also won Best Program for Fetherston’s live broadcast of the New England Patriots Super Bowl rally in 2019. Fetherston has served as Chairman of the Ashland Board of Selectman and Board of Health. He currently serves as a Governor appointee to the Ashland Housing Authority and MAPC Commissioner. Fetherston’s goal are to take the WACA TV corporation to the next level. Focusing on quality programming, informing the community with coverage of local government meetings, focusing on exciting live event coverage, growing the podcast portion of the station, as well as broadcasting on FaceBook Live and YouTube. Fetherston will also focus on working with local, state, and federal elected leaders to advocate for the support of community media.
WACA-TV Ashland is a local access independent, non-profit organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
