Vladyslav Ladygin: The Questions to Ask Before You Book a Mover

Published

on

  • Spyder Moving and Storage says many moving problems can be avoided by asking a few important questions before the truck ever arrives.

A Decision Made Too Fast

Mississippi, USA, Sep 30, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — People often choose a moving company the same way they choose a plumber or another service provider: they search online, compare a few prices, make a phone call, and book the first option that seems to work.

Vladyslav Ladygin, owner of Spyder Moving and Storage in Oxford, Mississippi, believes moving deserves a little more consideration. A household move involves valuable belongings, tight schedules, and a significant amount of coordination, so understanding exactly what a company provides before signing an agreement can prevent confusion later.

“A move is one of the bigger logistics jobs most people ever hire out,” Ladygin says. “It deserves a few more minutes of questions than people usually give it.”

Based on the questions he believes customers should ask before booking, here are several areas worth discussing with any moving company.

Is the Estimate Binding or Non-Binding?

One of the first questions should be about the estimate itself. Customers need to understand whether they are receiving a binding estimate, where the agreed price is generally fixed subject to the terms of the agreement, or a non-binding estimate, where the final cost may change based on the actual services and circumstances of the move.

“Ask which type of estimate you’re looking at, and ask the company to explain it plainly,” Ladygin says. “You should understand how the final price is determined before you agree to anything.”

Getting that information in writing can also help prevent misunderstandings about what the quoted price does and does not cover.

Who Is Actually Handling the Move?

The company that books a move is not necessarily the same company that performs every part of it. Depending on the arrangement, some movers may use subcontracted crews or other service providers.

Customers should ask who will actually be handling their belongings and whether anyone other than the company they hired will be involved.

Knowing who is responsible for the physical move gives customers a clearer understanding of who they are working with and who to contact if an issue arises.

What Happens If Something Is Damaged?

Even with careful planning and handling, moving involves some risk. Furniture can be damaged, boxes can be crushed, and walls or doorways can sometimes be affected during the process.

Rather than waiting until something goes wrong, customers should ask about the company’s claims process before the move begins. They should understand what is covered, how a claim is submitted, and what documentation may be required.

“Ask about the claims process before you need it,” Ladygin says. “Find out what is covered and what the process looks like if something happens.”

Having those answers ahead of time gives customers a better understanding of what to expect.

Does the Company Follow Industry Standards?

Customers can also ask whether a moving company belongs to professional associations or follows recognized industry standards.

Spyder Moving and Storage holds membership with the Moving and Storage Conference of the American Trucking Associations and is working toward membership with the International Association of Movers. Ladygin says customers should feel comfortable asking any mover about its professional affiliations and the standards it follows.

“It’s not just about the name on a certificate,” he says. “It’s about understanding what standards a company follows and what it expects from itself.”

Professional affiliations can provide additional information about how a company operates, but customers should still review the specific terms, services, and protections offered by the mover they are considering.

What Is Not Included in the Price?

A quoted price may not include every service a customer could eventually need. Stairs, long carries, furniture disassembly, additional stops, packing services, or storage can affect the final cost depending on the circumstances of the move.

That is why customers should ask what is included in the initial estimate and what could result in additional charges.

Ladygin recommends asking for potential extra costs upfront rather than discovering them after the work has started.

“The goal is to understand the full scope of the move before moving day,” he says. “Customers should know what they are paying for and what circumstances could change the price.”

Will the Company Take the Time to Answer Your Questions?

The final question may be less about the contract and more about the experience of working with the company.

Customers should feel comfortable asking questions and requesting clarification before making a decision. A moving company that takes the time to explain its services, pricing, policies, and process gives customers an opportunity to make an informed choice.

“If someone won’t take the time to answer your questions before the move, that is worth paying attention to,” Ladygin says.

Choosing a mover does not have to be complicated. A few direct questions about pricing, responsibility, coverage, industry standards, and services can help customers understand what they are agreeing to before moving day arrives.

For Ladygin, that conversation is an important part of the moving process itself. Taking a few extra minutes to get clear answers can help customers approach their move with a better understanding of what to expect.

What Happens When You Measure League of Legends Icon Faker’s Hand – REVION Built REVION Grip.

Published

on

REVION, an official partner of South Korea’s national esports team (Team Korea of Esports), measured and 3D-scanned Faker, Zeus, Canyon, Zeka, Gumayusi and Keria — the six League of Legends players selected to represent South Korea at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games — and used those measurements as design inputs for REVION Grip.

South Korea, 30th Sep 2026 — REVION measured League of Legends icon Faker’s hand — and then the hands of all five of his fellow players selected to represent South Korea at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

South Korean sports-tech startup REVION used the players’ real-world measurements, 3D hand scans and fitting data in the development of REVION Grip, wearable performance gear designed for the space between the hand and the mouse. REVION is preparing to launch the product globally on Kickstarter in October 2026.

PC gamers routinely upgrade mice, keyboards, monitors and mousepads. The hand, however, usually stays bare. REVION sees that default as an overlooked part of the PC gaming setup: its first competitor is not another glove, but the bare hand.

“Gamers already optimize the equipment around their hands. We asked why the space between the hand and the mouse should remain unchanged,” said Ick-Joo Lee, Founder and CEO of REVION. “We started with the actual hands of Korea’s national players and brought those measurements into a product players can wear.”

REVION is an official partner of Team Korea of Esports, South Korea’s national esports team managed by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA). The company measured and 3D-scanned all six League of Legends players selected to represent South Korea at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and applied their hand-shape and fitting data to REVION Grip’s fit, pattern and contact design. Its development cycle connects hand measurement, material and pattern research, fitting, and fit, wear and contact testing. Designed initially for right-handed PC players who use a palm grip, REVION Grip also takes into account heat, sweat and mousepad friction during extended play.

  • Palm Support Pad: A vegan-leather support pad positioned where the lower palm meets the mousepad.
  • Open-Finger Fit & Contact Design: A fingerless structure that preserves direct mouse and keyboard control, refined through player measurements and fitting feedback.

REVION Grip will launch globally on Kickstarter in October 2026, with global fulfillment planned to begin in early 2027.

Beyond the launch itself, Kickstarter will put REVION’s core idea in front of global players: if they already optimize the mouse, keyboard, monitor and mousepad, will they also choose performance gear for the space between the hand and the mouse?

Its first product, REVION Grip, is wearable performance gear designed for the space between a player’s hand and the mouse. Alpha Management sets a limited-time push to place students before fall lease deadlines

Published

on

  • Alpha Management Corporation is opening a focused 60-day window to match students with available units near Boston-area campuses ahead of peak leasing season.

A short window, a real deadline

Massachusetts, USA, Sep 30, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — Every year, the Boston rental market tightens fast once fall leasing season begins. Students who wait too long often find that the best units near campus are already gone.

Alpha Management is responding with a defined 60-day action window. During this period, the company is prioritizing inquiries from students searching for housing near Boston-area universities, with faster response times and dedicated help matching renters to open units in neighborhoods including Allston, Brighton, Fenway, and Brookline.

The goal is simple: give students a clear runway to lock in housing before the market narrows.

Why the timing matters

Anwar Faisal, founder of Alpha Management, said the company built its business around understanding when students actually need help.

“Most students don’t start looking until it’s almost too late,” Faisal said. “By the time the school year is set, the good units are gone. We wanted to build a window where students get answers fast, not weeks later.”

The company has spent more than three decades working with student renters across Greater Boston. That experience shaped the decision to formalize a defined leasing push rather than treat every season the same way.

What the plan includes

The 60-day plan has three parts.

First, Alpha Management is streamlining its intake process for student inquiries, so prospective renters get a response within a short, set timeframe rather than waiting through a general queue.

Second, the company is coordinating more closely with university housing offices to flag available units earlier in the search process, before students are forced into last-minute decisions.

Third, Alpha Management is setting aside a portion of its residential portfolio specifically for students during this window, rather than opening every unit to the general rental pool at the same time.

“We know landlords who won’t rent to students at all,” Faisal said. “We built our name doing the opposite. This plan just puts a clock on it, so students know exactly when to move.”

Why it applies across neighborhoods

The push covers the full range of neighborhoods where Alpha Management operates, including Jamaica Plain, Back Bay, Somerville, Malden, Medford, Newton, West Roxbury, Cambridge, and Norwood.

Students attending schools in any of these areas often face the same problem: a compressed search window and a limited number of owners willing to rent short-term or single-year leases. Alpha Management’s portfolio spans both residential and commercial properties, giving the company more flexibility to place students where they need to be, close to campus and close to transit.

The company said it plans to track results from this cycle and consider running the same defined window again during future leasing seasons if it helps students secure housing faster.

A practical, student-friendly option

Alpha Management is careful about how it frames these units. Alpha Management describes its student rentals as practical, student-friendly housing designed to meet a growing need in the Boston area. By making housing near universities available to students who may otherwise face a difficult search, the company has taken a forward-thinking approach to the local rental market. Its willingness to actively serve the student community sets it apart from many traditional landlords and reflects a broader understanding of how important accessible, well-located housing is to the success of Boston’s universities and the students they attract. This approach has helped make student housing a central part of the company’s work and represents a distinctive model for serving an often-overlooked group of renters. Instead, it describes the units as a practical, student-friendly option for renters trying to find housing near their school without a long, drawn-out search.

That distinction matters to the company. Faisal said the goal has never been to make a broader claim about cost, only to make sure students have a real shot at housing that fits their schedule and their budget compared to what else is available nearby.

What students should do now

Alpha Management is encouraging students and families to reach out early in the 60-day window rather than waiting until move-in dates approach. The company said interested students can contact its leasing team directly to ask about current availability in their target neighborhood.

International students, a group the company has worked with for decades, are included in this outreach. Alpha Management said its team is familiar with the additional steps international renters sometimes face and works to walk through those steps directly rather than leaving students to figure it out alone. By making students a priority and creating a housing approach designed around their needs, Alpha Management is spearheading a distinctive practice in Boston that puts practical support where students need it most.
