Pordenone Neighbourhood Removes 56.5 Kilos of Waste to Clean Streets and Green Spaces

Residents, civic volunteers and Scientology Volunteer Ministers take part in recurring neighbourhood actions focused on cleaner public spaces and shared responsibility

Brussels, Brussels, Belgium, 17th Sep 2026 — Residents and volunteers in Pordenone have continued a series of neighbourhood clean-up activities during September, bringing together people from different civic and community backgrounds to care for streets, green areas and shared public spaces across the northern Italian city.

The latest actions formed part of “Puliamo i Quartieri” — “Let’s Clean the Neighbourhoods” — a recurring local initiative that moves from one part of Pordenone to another and encourages practical participation in the upkeep of the urban environment.

On 5 September, volunteers gathered in the Borgomeduna area and worked along the banks of the Meduna and nearby green spaces. During the morning, participants removed 36.3 kilograms of discarded material, including plastics, glass, cigarette litter and larger abandoned items that had accumulated in the area.

The group included local residents, a volunteer connected with the Beato Odorico parish, a participant from Ripuliamoci Challenge and Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

One week later, the initiative continued around Largo Cervignano, Via San Vito and Via Latisana, where another group of residents and volunteers spent approximately 90 minutes clearing litter and abandoned material from streets and public areas.

That second clean-up resulted in a further 20.2 kilograms of waste being collected and separated for appropriate disposal.

Across the two consecutive September actions, volunteers removed 56.5 kilograms of material from public spaces while contributing their time to the maintenance and appearance of neighbourhoods used daily by residents.

A recurring approach to neighbourhood care

The significance of “Puliamo i Quartieri” lies not in a single large event, but in its continuity.

Rather than concentrating activity in one location or on one annual clean-up day, the initiative returns regularly to different neighbourhoods, allowing participants to address smaller areas in a practical and organised way.

This model also makes it possible for residents and members of different associations, communities and volunteer groups to work together without requiring a shared organisational background. The focus remains on a straightforward common objective: improving the places where people live, walk, meet and spend time.

The September activities illustrate that approach. In Borgomeduna, people associated with a Catholic parish, a civic environmental initiative and the Church of Scientology worked alongside local citizens on the same stretch of public space.

Such cooperation gives the project a broader community dimension. Environmental care becomes not only a question of waste removal, but also an opportunity for residents and volunteers to take shared responsibility for the quality of their surroundings.

Practical volunteering at local level

Scientology Volunteer Ministers have taken part in a number of community activities of this kind in Italy and elsewhere in Europe.

The Volunteer Ministers programme was developed in the mid-1970s by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology religion, with the purpose of providing practical assistance to people and communities facing everyday difficulties as well as larger emergencies.

While Volunteer Ministers are frequently associated with disaster-response work, the programme also places emphasis on local service and community support.

Its guiding principle, expressed in the motto “Something Can Be Done About It,” reflects the idea that individuals can take practical steps to improve conditions around them rather than remaining passive in the face of problems.

In Pordenone, that principle has taken a simple and visible form: joining other residents and volunteers in maintaining shared neighbourhood spaces.

The role of the Volunteer Ministers in these clean-ups is therefore part of a wider pattern of local participation rather than a stand-alone activity. Their involvement sits alongside that of other citizens and organisations contributing time and effort to the same civic objective.

Shared spaces and civic responsibility

Clean streets, green areas and riverbanks are among the most immediate elements of everyday urban life. Their condition affects residents regardless of age, background, religion or organisational affiliation.

Small-scale actions repeated over time can therefore have an effect beyond the quantity of material collected on any individual day. They can also encourage attention to public spaces, reinforce habits of civic participation and create opportunities for people who might otherwise have little contact with one another to work together.

Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, proposed the following comment:

“The value of initiatives such as this is found in people taking responsibility for the places they share. Caring for a street, a green area or a riverbank may be a simple act, but it reflects respect for neighbours, for the environment and for the wider community. When citizens from different backgrounds work side by side on something practical, they help strengthen the everyday civic life on which European communities depend.”

That emphasis on participation is particularly relevant to neighbourhood-level projects, where practical cooperation can often be more important than organisational identity.

The Pordenone clean-ups have brought together residents and volunteers with different affiliations around an activity that requires no complicated structure: identifying areas in need of attention, contributing time and effort, separating collected material and leaving the area in better condition.

Local action within a wider tradition of service

Community clean-ups are one of many forms of volunteer activity undertaken by Scientologists and Scientology Volunteer Ministers across Europe.

The programme established by L. Ron Hubbard was designed around practical assistance, including methods intended to help volunteers respond to personal difficulties, community needs and emergency situations.

Over time, Volunteer Ministers have participated in activities ranging from disaster relief to local community support, often working in coordination with other volunteer organisations, public services and civic groups.

In Pordenone, the September clean-ups represent the local end of that spectrum: modest in scale, direct in purpose and centred on the everyday environment shared by residents.

The continuation of “Puliamo i Quartieri” in different areas of the city also means that its value is cumulative. Each individual action addresses a defined location, while the broader initiative encourages a culture of participation that can continue from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.

The Church of Scientology, its missions, groups and members are present throughout the European continent, where Scientologists participate in religious, educational, prevention and community-betterment activities.

The Scientology religion was founded by author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, whose works also inspired a number of social and humanitarian initiatives addressing areas including drug prevention, human rights education, moral education and volunteer service.

Across Europe, the Church and its affiliated organisations operate within a range of national legal frameworks, while recognition of Scientology as a religion and of Scientology organisations as bona fide religious or charitable bodies has continued to develop through judicial, administrative and governmental decisions in different European jurisdictions.

Through local initiatives and Church-supported social programmes, Scientologists contribute to activities focused on education, prevention, human rights awareness, community assistance and practical service.

Break Into Tech Announces Expansion into the US Graduate Technology Sales Market

Published

on

London, United Kingdom, November 2nd, 2026, FinanceWire

Break Into Tech, a UK-based graduate training and placement company, has announced its expansion into the United States, extending its tech sales training and placement programme to graduates in the US.

The expansion marks the next stage of the company’s development, bringing its industry-focused training, mentoring and employer partnership model to a wider graduate market while continuing its work with employers and candidates in the UK.

The announcement comes as the UK faces significant challenges in graduate employment, with recruitment opportunities declining across several sectors.

According to High Fliers Research, which has tracked Britain’s leading graduate employers for over 30 years, graduate recruitment has fallen 24.5% since 2022. That is a steeper decline than during both the Covid pandemic and the 2008 financial crisis. The Financial Times reported that graduate positions fell a further 33% in 2025 alone, to the lowest level since 2018. Job search platform Adzuna also found that by July 2026, graduate-level vacancies had declined 45% year-on-year, dropping to 8,383.

Official ONS data shows that over one million 16-to-24-year-olds are classified as NEET (not in education, employment or training), the highest figure in over a decade. Youth unemployment for 18-to-24-year-olds has risen to 14.5%. The Guardian reported that more than one in four young people say they have already avoided job applications because they fear AI will replace those roles.

Company Background

Break Into Tech was founded by husband-and-wife team Milan Gool and Lara Gool. Milan, a current Stability AI employee and former Google employee, spent seven years in the tech industry, where he identified a gap between companies seeking sales talent and graduates seeking employment.

“I co-founded an AI company through Antler, the accelerator programme that has produced unicorns here in the UK,” Milan explains. “When we started hiring, I felt the pressure of finding young talent first-hand. Graduates had degrees but no commercial skills. Companies had roles but no pipeline. There was no real solution before Break Into Tech.”

Lara, a former corporate lawyer turned COO, saw the same gap from the operational side. Together they built a training and placement programme for graduates with no tech experience. The company reports that participants typically secure tech sales roles within 37 days.

Graduate Placements and Company Growth

Break Into Tech reports that, in under two years, it has placed over 629 graduates into tech sales roles, generating more than £4.6 million in combined student salaries. The company holds a 4.7-star Trustpilot rating and has built hiring partnerships with over 200 companies, including TikTok, Google, Amazon, Salesforce, HubSpot, PayPal, Stripe and AlphaSense.

The company grew almost entirely through organic content, amassing over 400,000 followers across social media in one year. Break Into Tech has also earned endorsement from the Institute of Sales Professionals (ISP), the UK’s chartered body for sales excellence, giving graduates an industry-recognised certification.

Programme Participant Experience

Georgia Young, a former hairdresser earning £18,000 a year, joined the accelerator programme and secured a six-figure tech sales role. She subsequently joined the Break Into Tech team to support the company’s mission of helping one million graduates around the world break into tech. In eight months, she has amassed over 200,000 followers on social media.

Tech Sales Training and Employment Opportunities

Break Into Tech’s programme focuses on preparing graduates for technology sales roles through practical training and employer connections. According to the company, typical starting salaries for tech sales development representatives range from £40,000 to £55,000, with potential on-target earnings exceeding £100,000 within one to two years.

The programme combines a proprietary in-house AI platform, daily one-to-one mentoring from experts working in the tech industry, and access to proprietary interview data from thousands of hiring partners.

United States Expansion

The company’s expansion into the United States extends its training and placement model to the country’s graduate technology sales market. The move comes as artificial intelligence continues to influence recruitment and workplace requirements.

The UK government’s AI Labour Market Survey 2025 found that only 13% of graduate schemes include AI training, highlighting a gap in the preparation of graduates for workplaces increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.

“The graduate job market is not broken,” says Milan. “It has shifted. The opportunities are there. They have just moved. Our job is to show people where they have moved to, and get them there as fast as possible.”

Through its expansion, Break Into Tech intends to extend its training and placement model to a wider graduate market while continuing its work with employers and candidates in the UK.

About Break Into Tech

Break Into Tech is a UK-based graduate training and placement company founded by Milan Gool and Lara Gool. The company helps graduates with no prior tech experience prepare for careers in technology sales through industry-focused training, one-to-one mentoring, an in-house AI platform and employer partnerships. Its mission is to help one million graduates around the world break into tech.

Tango Supports Peace and Community Connection in Cyprus with Major Donation

Published

on

Mountain View, California, November 2nd, 2026, FinanceWire

Through Tango for Good, the global live-streaming platform contributed tens of thousands of dollars to a cultural initiative promoting peace and unity, reinforcing its commitment to communities where it operates.

Tango, a global social live-streaming platform connecting creators and audiences worldwide, has donated tens of thousands of dollars to support a peace initiative in Cyprus, reinforcing its commitment to contributing to communities in countries where it operates.

The contribution supported the International Peace Concert, a cultural event initiated by the American Medical Center in Cyprus that brought together musicians and audiences around a shared message of peace, unity, and human connection.

The donation is part of Tango for Good, the company’s social impact initiative focused on supporting charitable causes, local organizations, and community projects, particularly in countries where Tango maintains an operational presence.

Supporting a Message of Peace from Cyprus

Held in Cyprus earlier this year, the International Peace Concert brought together more than 150 musicians from across Europe for a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, including the iconic Ode to Joy.

Tango joined the initiative as a supporting partner, contributing financially to help bring the event to life.

In a letter of appreciation, Dr. Marinos Soteriou, Founder and Director of the American Medical Center, thanked Tango for its significant contribution and commitment to an initiative that originated in Cyprus and aimed to bring people together through music.

Tango for Good: Giving Back Where We Operate

For Tango, supporting the initiative reflects a broader philosophy: companies should be active participants in the communities where they operate.

While Tango connects millions of people through live-streaming experiences, Tango for Good extends that commitment through charitable contributions, partnerships, and community-focused initiatives.

With an established operational presence in Cyprus, Tango sees supporting local organizations and meaningful initiatives as part of its responsibility toward the communities around it.

“Cyprus is an important part of our operations,” said Dor Isseroff, Chief Operating Officer at Tango. “We’re proud to support an initiative that brings people together around a message of peace. Connection is at the heart of what we do, and music has a unique ability to create that connection across cultures and borders. Through Tango for Good, we want to support initiatives that make a positive difference in the communities we’re part of.”
