Press Release
Office 2021 Loses All Security Updates on 13 October 2026 — UK Licence Retailer WinCDKey Publishes Buyer Guidance Ahead of the Deadline
With no extended support phase and no paid Extended Security Updates programme, an estimated fifty days remain before every edition of Office 2021 — including the Long-Term Servicing Channel release — stops receiving patches. WinCDKey has published support-lifecycle disclosures across its catalogue so buyers can see, before purchase, exactly how long each licence remains supported.
United Kingdom, 24th Aug 2026 — Microsoft Office 2021 reaches end of support on 13 October 2026. After that date, Microsoft will no longer issue security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for any Office 2021 edition on Windows or Mac. The applications will continue to open and run, but every vulnerability discovered from that point onward remains permanently unpatched.

What makes this deadline unusual is what follows it: nothing. Perpetual Office releases have historically carried a ten-year lifecycle — five years of mainstream support followed by five years of extended support. Beginning with the 2021 generation, Microsoft removed the extended phase entirely, halving the supported lifespan. There is no extended support period for Office 2021 and no paid Extended Security Updates programme of the kind offered to Windows 10 customers. The date is the end of the line.
The same date applies to Office LTSC 2021, the Long-Term Servicing Channel edition many organisations selected specifically because they expected a longer support runway. Microsoft Publisher also reaches end of life on 13 October 2026, after which no version of Publisher will be supported.
Why this matters to buyers who purchased perpetually to avoid subscriptions
The customers most exposed are the ones who made a deliberate choice. Perpetual Office licences are bought disproportionately by people and organisations that rejected the subscription model on cost, control, or compliance grounds: small businesses, freelancers, schools, clinics, manufacturing environments, and households replacing a laptop every five or six years.
Those buyers are also least likely to be watching Microsoft’s lifecycle announcements. A subscription tells you when it lapses. A perpetual licence, by design, gives no signal at all — the software simply keeps launching, indistinguishable from a supported installation, while the patches quietly stop arriving.
“The phrase that causes the confusion is ‘perpetual licence,’” said AL Sharif Hossain, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Wincdkey Ltd. “Perpetual describes your right to keep using the software. It has never described how long the manufacturer will patch it. Those are two different clocks, and most buyers only find out they were different when a support ticket comes in about an update that will not install.”
For organisations, the consequences extend past security. Handling personal data, card data, or health records on software that no longer receives vendor patches raises questions under most information-security frameworks and internal audit policies. That assessment belongs with each organisation’s own compliance function, but it is a question worth asking before October rather than after.
What WinCDKey has changed
WinCDKey has published support-lifecycle disclosures on affected product listings and campaign pages, stating the end-of-support date for each edition alongside the price rather than in terms-and-conditions text. The disclosures cover Office 2021 (13 October 2026), Office 2016 and Office 2019 (support ended October 2025), Windows 10 (support ended October 2025), and Windows Server 2019 (mainstream support ended January 2024, extended support to January 2029).
The company continues to sell the affected editions. Its position is that an unsupported licence remains a legitimate, low-cost option for the right use case — an offline machine, an air-gapped lab, older hardware that cannot meet Windows 11 requirements, or a short-term deployment with a known end date — and an unsuitable one for a daily-driver machine handling email and unknown attachments. The argument the company makes is that this should be a disclosed choice rather than an accidental one.
“We would rather sell a customer the cheaper unsupported edition knowingly than sell them the same thing while quietly hoping they never check the date,” said Mr Zahan. “The second version produces a refund request and a lost customer roughly a year later. We have seen enough of those tickets to know it is not a sustainable way to run a catalogue.”
The options available before October
Buyers evaluating the deadline have four broad paths. Remaining on Office 2021 past 13 October is defensible for low-exposure, offline, or short-horizon use, and buys time to test a replacement. Moving to Office 2024 preserves the one-time-purchase model and carries support through 9 October 2029, making it the direct successor for home users, freelancers, and small offices. Office LTSC 2024 suits managed and controlled environments that need a stable non-subscription release. Microsoft 365 replaces the support cliff with continuous servicing, at the cost of an ongoing subscription relationship and Microsoft’s rolling changes to the environment.
One point applies to all four: Office 2021 files open normally in Office 2024, so file-format compatibility is not a constraint on this particular migration — unlike version upgrades in CAD and BIM software, where format changes routinely strand users on incompatible releases.
Full comparison guidance is available in WinCDKey’s Office 2024 edition comparison, and step-by-step setup instructions in the company’s Office 2024 installation and activation guide. Lifecycle disclosures for every affected edition appear on the current Back to School Sale page, where Office 2024 and Office 2021 licences are discounted for the academic-year period.
Buyers who cannot migrate before the deadline are advised to reduce exposure in the interim: keep the operating system fully patched, restrict Office to trusted documents, disable macros from untrusted sources, and maintain backups independent of any single cloud location.

Muslim Marriage Events Announces Winter 2026 Programme of Four Verified Marriage Events in Birmingham and London, Including a New Divorcee Category
BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom, 13 October 2026 – Muslim Marriage Events, a UK organiser of structured, in-person matrimonial gatherings for British Muslims, today announced its winter 2026 programme of four events in Birmingham and London. The schedule includes two specialist events for graduates and medical professionals on 18 October, a three-age-group event in west London on 7 November, and a Birmingham event on 6 December that adds a dedicated category for divorced men and women.
The programme places document checks, age-banded groups and on-site supervision at the centre of each event. At the graduate and professional gathering, attendees are required to show a graduation certificate, work identification and a British passport, so participants know the backgrounds of the people they meet are verified before the first conversation starts.
“People tell us the hardest part of finding a spouse is not meeting someone. It is trusting what they are told,” said a spokesperson for Muslim Marriage Events. “This winter we have built every event around that. Credentials are checked at the door, rooms are grouped by age and background, and in Birmingham we are giving divorcees a category of their own instead of asking them to fit into a general room.”
Key Features of the Winter Programme
Verified credentials. At the 18 October graduate and professional event, qualifications and employment are checked against documents rather than taken on trust.
Separate events for separate audiences. Age-banded general events run alongside gatherings reserved for degree-educated professionals and for doctors and dentists. Places are capped in each category at the specialist events to keep groups at a manageable size.
A dedicated divorcee category. The 6 December Birmingham event introduces a group specifically for divorced men and women. Remarriage after divorce is common, and a separate group means divorcees no longer have to attend a general event to meet others in the same position.
Advisors and volunteers will be present at every event to explain the format and help conversations get started, which the organiser says is especially useful for first-time attendees.

18 October, Birmingham: Degree-Educated Professionals Event
The Birmingham Exclusive Degree Educated Professionals Event will take place at Tipu Sultan Restaurant, 43 Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham, B13 8AA, from 11:30am to 4:30pm. It is open to British Muslim graduates seeking a partner with a comparable educational and career background.
Places are split into two age groups. Group 1 is for women aged 21 to 26 and men aged 22 to 32, while Group 2 is for women aged 27 to 33 and men aged 33 to 42.
Attendees must present a graduation certificate, work ID and British passport at registration.

18 October, Birmingham: Doctors and Dentists Event
On the same day and at the same venue, the Doctors & Dentists Muslim Marriage Event will bring together British Muslim medical and dental professionals. The organiser said the event was created for people whose long training, shift patterns and rotas leave little room for conventional introductions, and who often prefer a partner who understands those pressures.
The event is divided into two age groups: women aged 21 to 26 with men aged 22 to 30, and women aged 27 to 33 with men aged 30 to 42.
Places in each category are limited. A three-course meal, soft drinks and tea are included.

7 November, London: Three Age Groups in Perivale
The Muslim Marriage Events London gathering will be held at Royal Nawaab, 7 Hoover Building, Western Avenue, Perivale, London, UB6 8DB, from 11:30am to 5:00pm, the longest session of the season.
Attendees will be placed in one of three age groups. The first brings together women aged 21 to 26 and men aged 21 to 30, the second women aged 27 to 33 and men aged 30 to 37, and the third women aged 34 to 39 and men aged 38 to 45.
The event is open to British passport holders who are single, fully divorced or widowed and seeking a marriage partner.

6 December, Birmingham: New Divorcee Category
The season closes with Muslim Marriage Events Birmingham at Tipu Sultan, 43 Alcester Road, Moseley, Birmingham, B13 8AA, from 11:30am to 4:30pm. The divorcee group will run alongside two age-banded groups.
In the age-banded groups, women aged 21 to 26 will meet men aged 21 to 32, and women aged 27 to 33 will meet men aged 30 to 38.
Each event follows a set format. Attendees rotate between tables, share a meal, and then have time for one-to-one conversations with anyone they would like to speak with further. Advisors and volunteers stay available throughout the day.
Meeting in Person, With Checks in Place
Muslim Marriage Events said the winter format is aimed at people who want more certainty than an online profile can give. A face-to-face meeting lets attendees judge manner and sincerity within minutes, and with documents checked and organisers present, individuals and their families get a more accountable route to a first introduction.
Eligibility and Event Details
Age brackets, identification requirements and eligibility differ by event. Full details, including arrival instructions and current availability, are published on each event page on the Muslim Marriage Events website.

Matt Davis Books Publishes Identity Renewal: The Hourglass Turns, a Novel on Identity and Renewal
The contemporary literary fiction title by author R. Matt Davis follows three men rebuilding their lives after the careers that defined them come to an end.
PETOSKEY, MICHIGAN, UNITED STATES, 13th Oct 2026: Matt Davis Books publishes Identity Renewal: The Hourglass Turns, a contemporary literary fiction title by author R. Matt Davis. The novel is available in hardcover, paperback and digital editions through booksellers in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The story takes place at a residential wellness center in the hills of Tennessee. Three men arrive within hours of one another, each at the end of the career that gave his life its shape. One is a former member of the armed forces, one a retired professional athlete and one a corporate executive. The sixty-day program at the center is built around a single question that each of them faces: who is a person once the role that defined him goes away?
Identity Renewal: The Hourglass Turns is organized in three sections titled Descent, Confrontation and Renewal. The narrative moves between the separate history each man carries and the shared present the three of them build together, then follows the year that unfolds after they leave the center. The book runs to twenty-seven chapters with a prologue and an epilogue, and extends to three hundred and forty-eight pages in the hardcover edition.
An hourglass serves as the central image of the novel. It appears as an object on a shelf at the center, as a daily practice, as a gift and finally as a shared marker between the three men. The author uses it to carry the governing idea of the book, which holds that time moves through a life regardless of readiness, and that the available choice concerns what a person does with the time that remains.
Themes in the novel include identity, resilience, friendship, fatherhood and personal renewal. The title is intended for adult readers of character-driven fiction. The narrative is written in the first person and rotates between the three men, with named headings marking each change of narrator.
“The questions behind this novel reach a wide readership,” said R. Matt Davis, founder of Matt Davis Books. “A career ends, a role falls away, and a person stands there with the same question regardless of the uniform he wore. That situation arrives for almost everyone eventually, which is the reason the book takes three different men and puts them in the same room.”
The hardcover and digital editions carry ISBN 978-9-69-509385-6. The paperback edition carries ISBN 9798240926136. The title is listed with Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million and Kobo in the United States, and with Waterstones and Foyles in the United Kingdom. The digital edition is available to readers internationally.
The novel is published by Matt Davis Books. Title details, author information and reader resources are maintained on the official company website at https://mattdavisbooks.com/.
