Explora Books Features Children’s Poetry Book at the BIBF 2026

Published

on

Explora Books will showcase Mice and the Ice Capade by Carley Smith at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 2nd Jun 2026 – Written predominantly in an AABBA rhyme scheme, the children’s poetry book follows a community of mice who transform winter field scraps into a neighborhood celebration after months of storing rice for the cold season. Determined to reward their hard work, the mice organize a “Rice Capade”—a parade and ice-skating festival built entirely from repurposed materials gathered from their surroundings.

Rags become gowns and suits, rubber scraps are fashioned into skates and boots, cardboard is repurposed into sleds for the youngest mice, and cattail stalks are turned into flutes. Grandma prepares rice puddings, cookies, and savory dishes from a campfire oven while floats decorated with rice, nuts, and fruit glide across the frozen landscape. Beneath the full moon, the community gathers to skate and sing alongside the music of the frogs.

The book’s poetic structure reinforces its playful storytelling. The rhythmic AABBA rhyme scheme gives the verse a read-aloud quality designed to engage young listeners, while the imagery of moonlit skating scenes and handmade parade floats lends itself naturally to visual imagination and shared reading experiences.

At its center, Mice and the Ice Capade highlights cooperation, creativity, and resourcefulness. By transforming ordinary objects into something joyful and communal, the story emphasizes the value of collective effort and imaginative problem-solving.

Carley Smith spent her career as a special education teacher in Missouri and published Mice and the Ice Capade at age 77 as her debut book. A lifelong writer of poetry, Smith drew on decades of experience supporting literacy and language development in classroom settings while crafting the book’s rhythmic and accessible verse.

Explora Books will feature Mice and the Ice Capade at Booth 5A.B14 during the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair. The book is also available on Amazon and other major digital bookstores.

Explora Books to Showcase Bruce K. Royer’s Supernatural Drama Two Connected Souls at the 2026 BIBF

Published

on

Explora Books will showcase the second edition of Two Connected Souls by Bruce K. Royer at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. Blending family drama with supernatural suspense, the novel explores the boundaries between human connection, mortality, and the unseen forces that shape perception and belief.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 2nd Jun 2026 – Two Connected Souls follows Derrick Sullivan, a devoted husband and father who survives a devastating car accident only to find his consciousness suspended in a quiet, light-filled interim realm. Guided by a mysterious robed figure, he comes to understand that his bond with his eight-year-old son, Ricky, extends beyond physical existence. When a malevolent entity enters the physical world and threatens Ricky’s soul, Derrick is forced to confront the limits of love, faith, and human agency in his effort to protect his family.

Set between hospital reality and an otherworldly dimension, the novel traces Derrick’s experience of separation, uncertainty, and spiritual disorientation. His relationship with his wife, Susan, and his son anchors the narrative, while shifting between grief, fear, and fragile hope. Rather than separating the human and supernatural elements, the story interweaves them to examine how individuals process crisis, identity, and emotional endurance under extreme conditions.

The novel’s emotional perspective is shaped by Royer’s own lived experience. Becoming a father at forty-four deeply influenced his understanding of responsibility and attachment. The loss of his younger brother during hospice care in 2010 further informed his reflections on grief and mortality. These experiences ultimately led him to explore how meaning is formed in moments of uncertainty and emotional rupture.

Shortly after his brother’s passing, Royer experienced a moment of unexpected comfort while watching his infant son through a baby monitor, prompting deeper reflection on memory, faith, and the possibility of connection beyond physical life. Drawing from these personal events, he wrote Two Connected Souls as an exploration of grief, family bonds, and the ways people seek meaning in the face of loss and change.

Attendees at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair are invited to view this supernatural drama at Explora Books’s exhibition booth 5A.B14 at CNCC in Beijing.

Two Connected Souls is available on Amazon and other major digital bookstores.

Explora Books Features ‘Glimpses Into Other Worlds’ at the BIBF 2026

Published

on

Explora Books will feature Glimpses Into Other Worlds by Kristy Shanahan at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held from June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. Previously showcased at the London Book Fair and now developed into a screenplay, the nonfiction title brings a researched and exploratory perspective to the fair’s international literary exhibition.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 2nd Jun 2026 – At its core, Glimpses Into Other Worlds asks how people across history have attempted to explain encounters and phenomena they could not fully understand. To explore this question, Shanahan draws on mythology, historical records, military documentation, religious traditions, and scientific theory while organizing the book into three interconnected areas of inquiry.

The first section, “Outer Space (The Heavens),” surveys accounts of heavenly visitors found in oral traditions, cave carvings, religious texts, myths, and legends from cultures around the world. The section moves from biblical figures such as Enoch and Elijah to Mesopotamian references to the Anunnaki before turning to modern cases, including the 1947 Roswell incident and recent government disclosures concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). Visually supported by images from NASA and other space agencies, the section examines how stories of unexplained aerial encounters have persisted across centuries and civilizations.

The second section, “Ultraterrestrials and Other Dimensions,” shifts from outer space to questions surrounding alternate realms and multidimensional existence. Drawing from both ancient traditions and contemporary reports, Shanahan examines accounts of individuals who describe encounters with other dimensions alongside scientific discussions involving physics, cosmology, and quantum theory. The section considers how different cultures and disciplines have approached the idea of realities existing beyond ordinary perception.

The final section, “The Inner Dimension,” focuses on consciousness, spirituality, and human perception. It explores subjects ranging from prophetic traditions and remote viewing to Hindu philosophy and classical metaphysics while also examining modern discussions surrounding consciousness and the nature of the mind. Rather than presenting definitive conclusions, the section investigates how spiritual inquiry and scientific exploration have both attempted to address questions about human awareness and humanity’s relationship to the wider universe.

Taken together, the book approaches mythology, science, spirituality, and historical testimony through an interdisciplinary lens, encouraging readers to consider how different societies and fields of study have interpreted the unknown across time.

Kristy Shanahan is a recently retired medical laboratory scientist and educator in biomedical and biological sciences. She holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Johns Hopkins University, and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where she continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member. Her scientific background and longtime work in education inform the book’s research-driven approach to historical, cultural, and speculative inquiry. She lives in northern Illinois with her family and her golden retriever, Rosie.

Attendees at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair are invited to view the book at Explora Books’s exhibition booth 5A.B14 at CNCC in Beijing.

Glimpses Into Other Worlds is available on Amazon and other major digital bookstores.

Explora Books to Showcase H.D. Duman’s Geopolitical and Supernatural Thrillers at the BIBF 2026

Published

on

Explora Books will feature three thriller titles by H.D. Duman at the 2026 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held June 17–21 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. The presentation brings together works that span geopolitical suspense, cyber warfare, and supernatural elements, reflecting a wide range of narrative approaches across contemporary thriller fiction.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 2nd Jun 2026 – The featured titles include WolfscapeTo Russia with Love, and Path to Peril, each set in distinct environments ranging from the American wilderness to international intelligence operations and global security networks.

Wolfscape blends mystery and supernatural tension against the backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The novel centers on a conflict between two wolves with opposing moral forces as the boundaries between the natural and the unknown begin to shift. Through an isolated wilderness setting and mounting suspense, the story also explores how a married couple deals with survival, transformation, and loyalty under extraordinary circumstances.

In To Russia with Love, Duman turns toward geopolitical suspense and cyber warfare. The novel follows Delta Force operatives and an Israeli scientist tasked with deploying a quantum virus deep behind enemy lines. When a breach in operational protocol compromises the mission, the team becomes entangled in an escalating confrontation involving the Russian FSB and the growing threat of technological warfare. The narrative follows a high-risk operation shaped by intelligence conflict, cyber capability, and escalating international tension.

Path to Peril follows two Department of Homeland Security intelligence operatives investigating an arms-trafficking network tied to international finance and emerging cyber threats. As separate investigations gradually converge, the novel reveals a complex web of political interests, surveillance systems, and global instability. Structured around parallel storylines, the narrative comes together and traces how interconnected systems expose vulnerabilities across institutions operating under pressure.

H.D. Duman writes thrillers that combine geopolitical conflict, advanced technology, and psychological tension within tightly constructed narratives. Drawing on subjects such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and espionage, his work focuses on character decisions shaped by operational constraints and high-stakes environments. Rather than emphasizing abstract interpretation, his novels are driven by present-day, scenario-based storytelling grounded in action, systems, and consequence.
