AGIS’ Tactical, C2 Smartwatch Ushers in a New Era in Soldier Health Awareness and Operational Efficiency.
AGIS, a pioneer in defense technology innovation, has developed software for a Biometric Smartwatch that assures Commanders know the health of their personnel whether in Training or in Combat.
Jupiter, FL, United States, 19th Mar 2025 – AGIS, a pioneer in defense technology innovation, has developed software for a Biometric Smartwatch that assures Commanders know the health of their personnel whether in Training or in Combat.
The Nature of war has changed, and soldiers need to know UAV locations (Watch) and avoid RF targeting means that only transmitting when essential and leaving low-cost radios to deceive and dispersion of units but then need to know location of wounded.
Smartwatch Enables UAV Location data and the Soldier/Marine to be part of the COP
It is now evident that all personnel in battle need to be aware of the presence of hostile Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and the possibility of their being RF targeted when using radios. Therefore, the wearer communications equipment needs to be provided with a form of communication that both addresses the need to know when UAVs are in the area and provides a communications means that significantly reduces the probability of being RF targeted. The high level of artillery, UAV and missile attack is also dictating dispersion of personnel. At the same time, personnel need to know the locations of their dispersed unit members and be able to coordinate their activities.
The weight and limitation of chest-mounted Smartphone Command and Control is a hinderance and requires the user to stop standup and flip down the chest-mounted Smartphone to view the COP. Furthermore, the Smartphones and their associate batteries, headsets and cables both restrict and add weight to an already overburdened Solider/Marine. All this is not required if a Smartwatch is used to display the data. While a Smartphone may be appropriate for the Platoon leader or even the Squad leader, it probably is not appropriate for the Fire Team Leader or the Fire Teams members who need to fight and maneuver. a watch avoids these issues.

To address this issue AGIS has developed software that utilizes a communications-enabled Smartwatch that provides much of the capabilities of the Smartphone. The COP and other data is available by simply looking at your wrist. The AGIS LifeRing enabled Smartwatch can also take Biometric health readings of the wearer and notify the Command if the wearer is injured. The Biometric COP Smartwatch (BCS) receives and transmits MDDL communications and can selectively display the Air, Ground, Sea, Space COP on a map and, most importantly, the locations of friendly and hostile units, UAVs and aircraft near them. Additionally, the BCS supports Voice PTT, Chat and Emergency declarations with others on network and transmits the wearers’ location and biometric data to others when they are injured. The BCS software selectively displays the map, an integrated compass that is visible around the watch’s bezel. The BCS transmits its biometric data to the AGIS Server, which forwards the data to AGIS PCs, Smartphones, and other BCSs.
Commanders can now know the health of their personnel, whether in Training or in Combat, while Smartwatch wearers receive the COP on their wrist.

Dr. Katie Zippel Unveils Pioneering Research on Social Prescribing for Cancer Care
NSW, Australia, 3rd May 2025 – Dr. Katie Zippel, a respected general practitioner and DPhil candidate at Oxford University, has introduced pioneering research that sheds light on the role of social prescribing in cancer care. Her latest study, soon to be published in a leading peer-reviewed journal, highlights how non-medical interventions can significantly enhance the well-being and long-term health outcomes of individuals living with cancer.
With both professional expertise and personal experience as a breast cancer survivor, Dr. Zippel brings a unique perspective to this research. Her study explores how integrating social support systems, lifestyle medicine, and community-driven initiatives into primary healthcare can improve the overall survivorship experience for cancer patients.
Social prescribing is a revolutionary healthcare approach that enables medical professionals to refer patients to non-medical services that support mental, emotional, and physical well-being. These services include arts-based therapies, exercise programmes, gardening projects, and community-based support groups.

Dr. Zippel’s research emphasizes that cancer treatment should go beyond conventional medicine and include holistic interventions that help patients cope with the psychological and social challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. Her study presents strong evidence that structured social prescribing programmes significantly reduce stress, enhance emotional resilience, and improve overall quality of life.
Key Findings from the Research
Dr. Zippel’s study explores the tangible benefits of social prescribing by analysing patient experiences across various healthcare settings, including hospitals and community clinics. The research identifies several key findings that underscore the impact of these programmes:
- Improved Mental Health: Patients engaged in social prescribing activities reported a 40% decrease in anxiety and depression symptoms compared to those receiving conventional treatment alone.
- Stronger Social Connections: Over 70% of participants noted significant improvements in social engagement, reducing their sense of isolation.
- Enhanced Physical Well-being: Patients who participated in prescribed exercise programmes experienced increased mobility, better energy levels, and overall improved health.
- Better Treatment Adherence: Patients involved in non-medical support activities demonstrated greater commitment to their medical treatments and healthier lifestyle choices.
