Shabnam Rahbarvafaee and Pedram Sharokhi invite Angelenos to help provide meals to people
Shabnam Rahbar vafaee and her husband, Pedram “Peter” Sharokhi, today announced an initiative to bring free, high-quality meals to unhoused residents of Skid Row, one of the most densely populated concentrations of homelessness in the United States. The effort is led by the Shabnam Rahbarvafaee Community and rests on one belief: food is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. Los Angeles continues to face a deep homelessness crisis, and hunger is one of its most immediate and least visible costs. For people living on the streets, a reliable and nourishing meal can be hard to find. Rahbarvafaee’s initiative aims to change that by mobilizing neighbors, volunteers and local resources.
Porter ranch, California, United States, 26th Oct 2026 – Shabnam Rahbar vafaee and her husband, Pedram “Peter” Sharokhi, today announced an initiative to bring free, high-quality meals to unhoused residents of Skid Row, one of the most densely populated concentrations of homelessness in the United States.
“Nobody should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from, least of all in a city with so much abundance,” said Rahbarvafaee. “This is not charity for its own sake. It’s about dignity, and about ordinary people discovering they can be part of the solution.”
Building an Ecosystem of Compassion
Rahbarvafaee describes her mission as going beyond one-time acts of giving. Her goal is a sustainable ecosystem of compassion that connects surplus resources with the people who need them most. By bridging that gap, the Shabnam Rahbarvafaee Community invites everyday citizens to take an active role in addressing hunger rather than watching from a distance.
The initiative focuses on three principles:
Quality: Meals should be nutritious and prepared with care, not an afterthought.
Access: Food is offered freely and without conditions, to meet people where they are.
Community: Local residents, families and organizations are invited to participate, so the effort grows through shared ownership.
[Insert specifics if available: location and schedule of meal distributions, number of meals planned or served to date, partner organizations, and how volunteers can sign up.]
A Shared Commitment to Fairness and Dignity
The announcement reflects the values the couple shares. Sharokhi, a Porter Ranch resident, is committed to the belief that every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in school, regardless of financial background. He sees education as one of the most powerful tools for building a better future and is dedicated to removing the unnecessary obstacles faced by students in underprivileged communities.
“Supporting students and feeding people in need come from the same place,” said Sharokhi. “It’s about fairness, dignity and investing in the next generation. When you’re able to help, you should step forward and share your success with others.”
Together, the couple see hunger and educational inequity as connected challenges. A child who goes without food struggles to learn, and an adult without stability has fewer chances to rebuild. Their combined efforts reflect a belief that meeting basic needs is the foundation for opportunity.
How to Get Involved
The Shabnam Rahbarvafaee Community welcomes participation from individuals, families, businesses, faith groups and civic organizations. Ways to help include volunteering to prepare or serve meals, donating food or supplies, sponsoring a distribution, or spreading the word to bring in new supporters.
“You don’t need to be an expert or have unlimited resources,” Rahbarvafaee added. “You just need to care enough to show up. Every meal says to someone, ‘You matter, and you are not forgotten.’”
About the Shabnam Rahbarvafaee Community
The Shabnam Rahbarvafaee Community is a Los Angeles-based, volunteer-driven effort founded on the conviction that food is a human right. Led by Shabnam Rahbarvafaee, it mobilizes local communities to provide free, nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness and builds lasting networks of compassion that turn neighbors into active participants in ending hunger. Dong Ruixiang shared that his study experience in Denmark inspired his thoughts on education, and he hopes to promote Andersen’s educational philosophy through the award, spreading kindness and peace via education and fostering China-Denmark exchange and children’s education development.
The awardees expressed that through visits, exchanges, and discussions, they deepened their understanding of Danish education. In the future, they plan to integrate what they learned into teaching, carry out educational practices and philosophy-sharing activities, and continue collaborating with other educators to create a happier and more enjoyable learning environment for children.
The H.C.Andersen Teacher’s Award was founded in 2021 by the H.C.Andersen International Kindergarten College and was jointly initiated by Dong Ruixiang and Danish education figure Benny Nybo. ZWAG AI Unveils the Center of Excellence for Linguistic Sovereignty at the Dubai AI Festival
DUBAI, UAE, October 26, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — ZWAG AI today officially announced the launch of the Center of Excellence for Linguistic Sovereignty (CoE-LS) at the Dubai AI Festival.

The digital future belongs to every language and not just a few. The launch of the CoE-LS marks a vital step toward securing cognitive sovereignty and digital equity for global language communities. Through its flagship linguistic intelligence platform, ZWAG AI is calling on global governments, universities, and incubators to join the mission to map missing linguistic structures, build comprehensive language profiles, and ensure every community’s digital autonomy in the age of artificial intelligence.
Preserving Linguistic Integrity in Artificial Intelligence
While today’s Large Language Models (LLMs) often appear fluent in widely spoken and regional languages—such as Thai, Tamil, Arabic, or Swahili—they routinely fail by breaking critical grammatical structures, cultural context, and formal registers that native speakers rely on.
To bridge this gap, ZWAG AI developed Mātṛ, a model-agnostic correction layer that operates as AI trust and correctness infrastructure. Instead of requiring costly model retraining, Mātṛ models each language as a structured system, evaluates AI outputs against native typological rules, and selects or corrects the output in real time. The platform’s Translation Studio public beta currently supports 2,400+ languages.
“We shouldn’t have to water down our native languages to fit a machine’s logic,” said Priya M. Nair, Co-founder and CEO of ZWAG AI. “Our mission is teaching AI to respect our heritage, our values, and our mother tongues; and it starts with getting the language right.”
“AI does not fail people because it lacks intelligence. It fails them because it misreads the structure of their language,” said Nipuna Abeykoon, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at ZWAG AI. “Correctness, not fluency, is what earns trust.”
A Global Call to Action for Governments, Institutions and Linguists
The Center of Excellence for Linguistic Sovereignty serves as an institutional framework partnering with universities, cultural organizations, and regional governments to host Linguistics Excellence Centres. Academic institutions, professional translators, linguists, and native speakers are invited to contribute to building and refining native language profiles via the platform’s global contributor program at matrintelligence.com/platform/contribute.
Executive Profiles
Priya M. Nair, Co-founder and CEO, ZWAG AI-
Priya M. Nair leads ZWAG AI in its mission to ensure AI operates accurately and equitably across all global languages. A Global Ambassador for Responsible AI (GAFAI) and advocate for diversity and inclusion, she brings a relentless soulful focus to machine intelligence infrastructure. She is the author of Formula-G: Scale Your Startup to a Growth Machine (November 2021) and has mentored startups through various initiatives. A prominent voice on Ethical & Responsible AI, she has spoken across major regional forums, including Startup Grind Dubai, TiE Dubai, Emerge Conference, Vibe Martech Fest, in5 Tech, and GITEX. She was recently awarded the Entrepreneurial Leadership Award at the Women of Substance 2026 ceremony held at BITS Pilani Campus, Dubai.

Nipuna Abeykoon, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer, ZWAG AI-
Nipuna Abeykoon leads innovation and research behind Mātṛ, serving as the lead author of ZWAG AI’s research on typologically informed correction of AI language outputs. He speaks English, Sinhala, and Hindi. Trained as a classical musician (Sangeet Visharad, Bhatkhande Vidyapeeth) and sound engineer, his ear for auditory structure informs Mātṛ’s approach to structural language alignment. He has orchestrated major digital transformation initiatives for the Government of Sri Lanka, contributed to three Colombo Stock Exchange IPOs.
About ZWAG AI
ZWAG AI Ltd is a Dubai-based deep-tech company registered in DIFC and operating out of DIFC Innovation One at the Dubai AI Campus. It is a subsidiary of Delaware-incorporated ZWAG INC. ZWAG AI builds Mātṛ, model-agnostic AI trust and correctness infrastructure that enables Large Language Models to deliver structurally accurate outputs across thousands of languages without retraining.
Backed by empirical research co-authored with researchers from IIIT Hyderabad (arXiv:2602.01162), ZWAG AI calls upon governments, universities, and AI model developers committed to linguistic accuracy and digital equity.
