Walking Together in the Footsteps of Civilization: Youth Explore Jilin’s Cultural Heritage in a Micro-Variety Series

Published

on

China, 15th Oct 2026 – Recently, a documentary-style micro-variety drama series produced by Jilin University completed filming in Jilin. The six young participants come from five countries: China, Canada, Japan, Russia, and Pakistan. The program chose Changbai Mountain, Ji’an, and Yanji as its three exploration destinations. Walking through mountains and rivers and tracing cultural roots, it uses documentary footage to record a journey of cultural exploration, turning the filming sites into a platform for exchange and dialogue among young people from multiple countries. Cross-cultural resonance emerged naturally through the journey and the filming process.

With the three destinations as narrative anchors, the program showcases, respectively, the unique natural ecological landscape of Changbai Mountain, the precious World Cultural Heritage value of Ji’an’s Koguryo sites, and the urban vitality of Yanji, which combines rich folk heritage with a thriving modern urban atmosphere. At Changbai Mountain, the young people experienced its exceptional ecological resources up close. In Ji’an, they visited the Koguryo capital cities, royal tombs, and noble tombs, conducting on-site visits and immersive archaeological experiences and coming into contact with rich ancient historical remains. In Yanji, they experienced diverse local folk customs and personally felt the modern character and vibrant contemporary energy brought by rapid urban development. By connecting cultural heritage, natural ecology, local folk customs, and modern urban landscapes, the program gave young people from different countries a richer cultural experience.

The program uses gamified, task-based formats popular among young people to guide participants from multiple countries to visit in person and actively explore Jilin’s natural ecology, historical heritage, local folk customs, and modern urban vitality. The production team set up a series of cultural exploration tasks in Changbai Mountain, Ji’an, and Yanji, turning history, ecology, folk culture, urban development, and other content into interactive and collaborative experience segments. During their on-site visits, young people from different countries completed challenges together. Through game-based interaction, collaborative exploration, and knowledge exchange, they enhanced mutual understanding, formed friendships, and built a vibrant youth cultural community. This micro variety show is not merely a visual record; it is also a warm, in-depth, and resonant practice of international youth cultural exchange. It offers a Jilin approach that can be referenced for international cultural exchange in the new era and injects youthful energy into such exchanges.

Young people from different countries who participated in the filming shared their reflections. MAHAMUD HIRSI from Canada said that the majestic and magnificent natural scenery of Changbai Mountain, together with the tacit understanding they developed while completing tasks together, made him genuinely feel a natural closeness among young people from different countries. Cultural differences did not become barriers to communication; instead, they made cross-cultural dialogue more interesting. NIKIFOROVA IULIA from Russia said that standing at the Koguryo heritage site, the immersive on-site experience was far more vivid and multidimensional than reading books, deepening her understanding of this precious historical heritage. USHYAMA AIKO from Japan was deeply impressed by Yanji’s urban vitality. The city has elements common to East Asian cultures while also possessing distinctive local folk customs. With traditional folk customs and modern urban landscapes complementing each other, and with partners from multiple countries exploring together, she believes that young people from different countries can truly become sincere friends.

Crowded Launches Crowded MCP, Bringing Nonprofit Financial Operations Into ChatGPT and Claude

Published

on

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 15th, 2026, FinanceWire

New MCP connector gives nonprofit teams a practical entry point into AI, letting them work with their live financial data to query spending, create fund accounts, prepare tax filings and build board reports through natural-language prompts.

Crowded today launched the Crowded MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector that lets nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations work with their Crowded financial data and operational workflows from ChatGPT and Claude using natural-language requests. MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside software and data.

Crowded MCP is designed around the work nonprofit finance and operations teams do every day: understanding spending, organizing funds, preparing compliance work, managing accounts and turning transaction data into reports and next steps. For organizations interested in AI but unsure where it fits into day-to-day operations, that makes existing finance work an immediate use case rather than a separate technology project.

“The real opportunity is bringing finance into the AI workflow, not simply giving an AI more authority over the money,” said Daniel Grunstein, co-founder and CEO of Crowded. “Nonprofit teams spend enormous amounts of time understanding what happened, organizing the data and preparing what needs to happen next. Crowded MCP is designed to compress that work while keeping the organization’s existing controls in place.”

A user can ask Crowded MCP to handle tasks ranging from pulling data to taking supported actions in Crowded:

  • “How much was spent on food in the past month?”
  • “Create a fund account for the latest government grant.”
  • “Prepare Form 990 from all Crowded platform transactions and uploaded materials.”
  • “Build the annual board report using Crowded transaction data.”

For customers already using the connector, reporting and fundraising workflows are already emerging as practical use cases. “The Crowded MCP is really cool. I built year-end summary reports by easily pulling my organization’s Crowded transaction data and visualizing it — a task that would have taken much longer otherwise!” said Keith Tristano, CFO of the Chicago Dental Society.

“We leverage the Crowded MCP server to easily generate custom fundraising pages for our sponsored projects. It’s a no-brainer!” said Boruch Izkowitz, CEO of Brightleaf Giving.

Unlike uploading a static spreadsheet or bank export to an AI assistant, Crowded MCP is an authenticated connection to live Crowded data and tools. It can retrieve current financial information and, where permissions allow, carry out supported Crowded actions such as creating accounts, managing cards, tagging transactions and preparing operational workflows. The connection stays tied to the underlying Crowded environment rather than a one-time data snapshot.

Crowded MCP currently supports workflows across banking, cards, fundraising and dues, tax filing, account and contact management, transaction tagging and reporting. Crowded’s nonprofit financial platform already spans fund accounts and sub-accounts, cards, dues and collections, fundraising, tax compliance and reporting, giving the connector operational context beyond a standalone accounting export.

Crowded MCP can also turn questions into live views built from an organization’s current Crowded data, such as a due’s tracker, spend-by-category chart, filing-status board or other custom operational view. Crowded MCP sits alongside other connected systems in supported AI environments, opening the door to workflows that combine Crowded data with accounting, member engagement, fundraising and other operational systems while keeping access scoped to the permissions granted to the connector.

Availability

Crowded MCP beta is available now as a custom connector for Claude and ChatGPT. Crowded does not charge an additional fee for use of the connector; customers may need an appropriate ChatGPT or Claude plan, and normal Crowded product fees still apply. Organizations can connect in minutes using Crowded’s MCP endpoint and following its setup guides.

Yankees Jose Chema Caballero and Panamanians in the US Unite to Deliver Earthquake Aid to Panama

Published

The Carvalho Family Foundation’s United for Panama initiative, with Chema Caballero y Familia and the Consulate General of Panama in New York, is collecting funds and supplies for direct delivery to families affected by the October 9 earthquake.

United States, 15th Oct 2026 —The Carvalho Family Foundation, led by Hector Carvalho, today announced that it is expanding its humanitarian relief efforts following the devastating October 9, 2026 earthquake in Panama. Through its “United for Panama” initiative, the foundation is working alongside New York Yankees player José ‘Chema’ Caballero, Chema Caballero y Familia, and the Consulate General of Panama in New York.

Supplies and funds are delivered directly to affected families by the foundation’s own team on the ground in Panama, working with Chema Caballero y Familia. The campaign is collecting financial donations and essential supplies, including diapers, baby formula, baby food, tents, sleeping bags, blankets, hygiene products, and basic medical supplies. Donors can visit eight donation drop-off centers across New York (including Brooklyn and Long Island), New Jersey, and Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), with more being added.

“The devastation in Panama has left families facing tremendous uncertainty, and we believe that helping them is a responsibility we all share,” said Hector Carvalho, Executive Director of the Carvalho Family Foundation.

The needs are urgent. The magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck on October 9 near Tonosí. This was followed by more than 400 aftershocks and a magnitude 6.1 quake on October 12. According to Panama’s civil protection agency, SINAPROC, 656 schools and more than 1,000 homes were damaged, and 598 people are in shelters.

Carvalho added, “We’re bringing together individuals, businesses, community leaders, and logistics partners who want to make a difference. Our immediate priority is getting essential supplies to families who need them. We’re asking companies with warehouses, trucks, shipping capabilities, or available space to join us, and we’re encouraging individuals to contribute whatever they can. Whether it’s a donation, opening a collection location, or helping transport supplies, every contribution can make a difference. Panama needs our support, and together we can turn compassion into action.”

To realize the goals of the United for Panama initiative, the foundation is actively seeking:

  • Individual and corporate financial donors to help fund humanitarian relief.
  • Businesses, community centers, schools, and organizations willing to serve as additional donation drop-off locations.
  • Logistics, transportation, warehousing, freight, and shipping partners to help collect, store, consolidate, and transport donated supplies.
  • Corporate sponsors and community organizations interested in contributing supplies, services, transportation capacity, or volunteer support.

Support is possible from anyone in the U.S.  People can give on GoFundMe, buy from the foundation’s Amazon wish list, or drop off supplies at designated centers. Drop-offs are open through October 31. The foundation requests new, unopened items only.

Businesses that can offer drop-off space, trucks, warehousing, or shipping should contact Hector Carvalho at (516) 790-4407 or unitedforpanama.cff@gmail.com.

Pelican Coast Electric Offers Free Panel Evaluations to Owners of Older Orange County Homes

Published

on

Newport Beach electrical contractor Pelican Coast Electric offers free on-site panel evaluations and written estimates to Orange County homeowners. More than half of the county’s housing units were built before 1980.

Newport Beach, California, United States, 15th Oct 2026 –  Pelican Coast Electric, a licensed electrical contractor in Newport Beach, offers free on-site electrical panel evaluations to homeowners across Orange County. The company focuses on older homes where the original panel is still in service, and every homeowner gets a written estimate before any work starts.

“Most people don’t know what’s in their panel until something goes wrong,” said Austin Torres, owner of Pelican Coast Electric. “We look at it, tell you what you have and tell you whether it needs work. If it doesn’t, we say so.”

What the evaluation covers

A Pelican Coast Electric electrician reads the panel label, checks the panel’s condition and confirms whether the service has room for new loads such as an EV charger or a heat pump. The homeowner leaves with a clear answer: keep the panel, upgrade it or replace it.

The company serves homeowners and businesses across Orange County and San Bernardino County from its office on West Coast Highway in Newport Beach. Its crews also install whole-home standby generators and EV chargers and provide 24/7 emergency electrical service.

Where older panels are most common

Much of Orange County’s housing is old enough to still have its original electrical panel. According to the Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey, 651,037 of the county’s 1,146,169 housing units went up before 1980, and the median year built is 1977. The share runs higher in the cities that filled in first: 82% in Fountain Valley, 74% in Santa Ana, 69% in Huntington Beach and 68% in Costa Mesa. In Newport Beach it’s 55%.

Plenty of those original panels have been replaced during remodels and sales. The only way to know about a specific house is to read the label.

“Open the panel door and read the label,” Torres said. “If you’re not sure what it tells you, have someone look at it. I’d rather give somebody a straight answer than sell them a panel they don’t need.”

Pelican Coast Electric published a guide on how to identify your electrical panel brand for homeowners who want to check before calling anyone. For panels that do need to come out, the company’s Federal Pacific panel replacement service covers the new panel, the permit, the utility disconnect and the city inspection, with a free on-site evaluation and a written estimate before any work starts. When the brand is fine but the service is too small for an EV charger or a heat pump, the company does a standard electrical panel upgrade.

Pelican Coast Electric holds California contractor license #1133193 (C-10) and has a 5.0-star rating across more than 50 Google reviews. Homeowners can request an evaluation at pelicancoastelectric.com or by calling (949) 779-8189.
