Octrado introduces its proprietary trading offering: “Your Skill. Our Capital”

Published

on

Mahe, Seychelles, September 8th, 2026, FinanceWire

Infrastructure, transparent rules and clear legal boundaries positioned as the core of the funded-account model

Octrado introduces its proprietary trading, a service that gives traders access to firm capital through a structured evaluation process. Under the model “Your Skill. Our Capital”, the platform positions itself between the retail trader and the funded-account system, with the emphasis placed on the operational layer – data environment, rule clarity, evaluation and payouts – rather than on headline account sizes alone.

The programme follows a simple sequence: the trader registers, selects a programme, meets the stated conditions of the challenge, and — on passing — receives funded trader status with a share of the potentital profits generated. The design principle is that a trader must know in advance what is measured, what the limits are, when a rule is considered breached, and what the route from challenge to payout looks like.

Communicated programme parameters

The offering includes:

  • profit split of up to 90%
  • account sizes of up to USD 100,000
  • leverage of up to 1:100
  • the option to hold positions overnight, subject to programme rules
  • a restricted weekend trading regime
  • defined rules for trading around news releases

The offering also includes trading reports, tracking of trade success rate, drawdown and progress, educational materials, and client support. In an environment where selection is demanding, these elements determine whether a challenge is perceived as a fair test or as an opaque filter.

The professionalisation of proprietary trading is not a question of a better interface. It is the ability to maintain a consistent system — the same rules before and after the challenge, clear documentation, auditable reporting, and a legally correct separation of simulation from the live market. Where a platform holds those layers together, its position in the ecosystem rests on an infrastructure of trust rather than on the marketing of funded accounts.

Prop-trading surges in its volume. In its recent study, analysts of Octrado provided a global estimate, which puts the primary prop-trading market, the direct annual revenue of prop firms, at USD 4.0 to 4.5 billion, and the broader ecosystem value, which adds downstream brokerage fees and notionally allocated capital, at around USD 20 billion.

Sergey Baburov and the Coffee Navigator team to attend International Coffee Week in Trieste

Published

on

Kazakhstan, 8th Sep 2026 – Sergey Baburov and the team behind the Coffee Navigator analytics platform plan to attend TriestEspresso Expo 2026, which will take place in Trieste, Italy, on October 21–23. The team will focus on the development of private-label coffee production and its impact on local market structures.

Sergey Baburov and the Coffee Navigator team

TriestEspresso Expo is an international B2B trade show dedicated to espresso and the coffee industry. Exhibitors include green coffee suppliers, roasting companies, equipment manufacturers, packaging providers, and service companies.

In 2026, the organizers will introduce private label as a dedicated area for the first time under the name Custom Coffee Industry. The section is designed to bring manufacturers together with buyers from retail, hospitality and foodservice, distribution, and e-commerce.

For Coffee Navigator, this segment is of particular interest as an indicator of market development. The team plans to examine contract manufacturing models, minimum order quantities, opportunities for custom recipe development and packaging, as well as differences in requirements across retail, HoReCa, and e-commerce channels.

The main objectives of the visit are to:

  • study cooperation models between brand owners and contract manufacturers;
  • compare product and packaging requirements across different sales channels;
  • assess how contract manufacturing can make it easier to launch new coffee brands;
  • collect data for further analysis of local coffee markets.

“Private label is often seen simply as another product category. What interests us more is what sits behind it: how easy it is for a company to launch a new product, how much of the process is handled by the manufacturer, and what different sales channels expect from suppliers. These details can reveal a great deal about how a market is structured and how developed it is,” says Sergey Baburov, founder of Coffee Navigator.

The team plans to compare the data collected at the exhibition with the indicators Coffee Navigator already uses to assess local markets. Following the visit, the company will prepare an analytical summary on the development of private label in the coffee industry and its potential impact on the emergence of new brands and the level of market competition.

BMC Advances Prime Growth Strategy PGS in Nigeria Under Babajide David Awolowo

Published

on

Blue Meridian Capital (BMC) is advancing the Prime Growth Strategy (PGS) framework in Nigeria, with the initiative entering its live-market execution phase on 8 September. Led by Babajide David Awolowo, the framework focuses on high-frequency quantitative trading, direct market access and disciplined intraday execution as part of a broader approach to structured capital-market participation.

Nigeria, 8th Sep 2026 – As global investors continue to assess opportunities across emerging African markets, attention is increasingly turning towards the role of quantitative infrastructure in improving execution discipline and market participation. In Nigeria, the latest development of the Prime Growth Strategy (PGS) is bringing this discussion into sharper focus.

Led by Babajide David Awolowo, the framework entered its live-market execution phase on 8 September. Its underlying approach combines high-frequency quantitative trading models with DMA-based execution, using predefined rules and data-driven processes rather than relying primarily on discretionary market judgement.

At the centre of the framework is the analysis of short-term pricing movements and order-book conditions. The system is designed to process market data at high speed, analyse short-term pricing conditions and support execution decisions within predefined parameters. Positions are structured around intraday activity, with the framework designed to avoid carrying positions overnight.

This approach reflects a broader shift within institutional trading towards automated execution, where technology, market data and risk parameters play an increasingly important role in determining how capital is deployed.

Structured capital leverage is also incorporated into the PGS framework to support capital efficiency. Rather than treating leverage as a standalone return mechanism, the model combines it with systematic hedging processes, predefined exposure limits and systematic risk controls intended to manage downside exposure during trading activity.

Awolowo’s recent work has focused on the strategic application of institutional quantitative methods to Nigerian market conditions, including how data-driven execution, risk frameworks and market-access technologies may support more structured participation.

The framework also places emphasis on full-depth order-book data and rapid execution capabilities. These tools are intended to help identify short-lived market imbalances that may be difficult to capture through conventional manual trading processes.

According to the project’s underlying approach, the objective is not to depend on directional market forecasts, but to create a more systematic process around data analysis, execution discipline and risk management.

As technology becomes increasingly embedded in capital-market infrastructure, frameworks such as PGS illustrate how quantitative methods may contribute to a more structured form of market participation. The development also reflects growing interest in how established institutional trading concepts can be adapted to the operational characteristics of emerging financial markets.

The “Everlasting Battery” Inside Your Joints:UConn Professor’s Self-Powered Healing Material just Got Acquired

Published

on

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, September 8th, 2026, FinanceWire

A material that turns your own movement into medicine has just landed a corporate home. PetVivo Holdings (OTCQX: PETV), a veterinary biotech and biomedical device company focused on treating osteoarthritis in dogs and horses, has acquired PiezoBioMembrane (PBM) — a startup built around a biodegradable implant that generates electricity from the everyday force of a joint in motion, and uses that charge to help regrow cartilage from the inside out. The material is the invention of Thanh Nguyen, a professor of mechanical engineering in UConn’s College of Engineering, who founded PBM in 2021 to advance new implementation methods for his work with piezoelectric materials — substances that convert mechanical force into electrical energy. These materials are typically ceramics: hard, brittle, and poorly suited for medical use. But Nguyen’s lab developed new forms that are so , flexible, and biodegradable, breaking down naturally within the body over time. wound healing, The materials have already shown strong potential across a range of medical applications, including tissue regeneration, implanted force sensors, and targeted drug delivery in tumor treatment. How It Works biodegradable ultrasound for In the case of arthritis, Nguyen explains, the piezoelectric materials function as an off-the-shelf product that can be implanted or injected directly into the ailing joint — with no drugs, chemicals, or cells required. The everyday force exerted on the joint generates a small electrical charge, which helps regrow healthy cartilage, mimicking the body’s natural use of electricity to regenerate tissue. “The body can be electrically stimulated to regrow,” Nguyen says. PBM’s materials “act like a battery — an everlasting battery that works whenever there is a force applied, and vanishes safely inside the body over time.” PetVivo’s Vision for the Acquisition PetVivo Holdings CEO John Lai expressed enthusiasm for the merger’s potential to improve the lives of companion animals globally. “PBM has developed a compelling functional biomaterials platform with the potential to support the development of multiple medical device and therapeutic product lines across both human and animal health markets,” Lai said in a press release. “By combining PBM’s scientific innovation with PetVivo’s product development capabilities, commercialization experience, regulatory expertise, and public company infrastructure, we believe we can accelerate theadvancement of technologies that may serve as the foundation for numerous future products and strategic opportunities.” For Nguyen, the deal is a chance to scale technology that could eventually benefit both animals and people. “PetVivo is an animal health company, but they do have a big passion: pushing the technology towards clinical trials for human use,” Nguyen says. “That aligned perfectly with my passion for developing technology that has an impact on human life. That is why I am excited about this merger, which facilitates my passion.” A Track Record of Innovation Nguyen’s research sits at the intersection of medicine, micro/nanotechnology, and biomaterials. His inventions have earned him publications in prominent scientific journals and media coverage from outlets including NPR. Nguyen founded PBM during the COVID-19 pandemic, a er realizing the material he had developed could be used to create an especially effective, biodegradable face mask — one where the mechanical force of breathing generated an electrical charge that provided an extra layer of protection against viruses. PBM is not Nguyen’s only venture in the acquisition pipeline. His other startup, Single-Time Microneedles (STM), is also currently undergoing an acquisition process. STM has pioneered stable, efficient vaccine delivery technology in the form of an adhesive patch. shelfNguyen’s focus on biodegradable materials has translated into a remarkably diverse range of medical applications. He has received five R01 grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting research in cartilage regeneration, bone regeneration, HIV antibody delivery systems, and biodegradable ultrasound technology to boost the effectiveness of chemotherapy for brain cancer. “Whatever we are working on, we want to show that it works very well in vitro and in vivo,” Nguyen says. “Then, when we are at the point of commercialization, we set up a startup or license the technology — or maybe team up with an industry partner.” Thanh Nguyen is a professor of mechanical engineering in UConn’s College of Engineering.
