Robert Clamon on What Motorcycle Racing Taught Him About Risk and Decision-Making
San Jose, California, Aug 25, 2026, ZEX PR WIRE — For Robert Clamon, motorcycle racing has never been about taking unnecessary chances. It has been about preparation, judgement, and knowing how to make decisions when there isn’t much time to hesitate.

Those lessons have followed him into his professional life.
Clamon, an Area Fleet Operations Supervisor with PG&E in San Jose, began his career as a mechanic at San Jose BMW before moving into management roles at Weston’s Auto Body and Monterey-Salinas Transit. Across each stage of his career, he has found that managing risk is less about avoiding uncertainty and more about being prepared for it.
“People hear motorcycle racing and think it’s all about speed,” Clamon said. “But if you’re not prepared, speed doesn’t help you. You need to understand the machine, pay attention to what’s happening around you, and know when to push and when to back off.”
That mindset has influenced how Clamon approaches decisions at work.
In racing, conditions can change quickly. A rider has to respond without losing focus. In operations, the details are different, but Clamon sees a similar need for calm thinking and situational awareness.
“You’re rarely going to have perfect information,” he said. “At some point, you have to make the best decision you can with what you know, then be willing to adjust if something changes.”
Preparation Before Pressure
Clamon’s mechanical background gave him an early appreciation for preparation. At San Jose BMW, he learned that problems often begin with details that are easy to overlook.
That lesson became even more important as he moved into leadership.
“When you’ve worked on the equipment yourself, you understand that small things matter,” he said. “You don’t want the first time you notice a problem to be when everything has already gone wrong.”
Rather than viewing preparation as a way to eliminate all risk, Clamon sees it as a way to create better options when something unexpected happens.
He carries the same philosophy into motorcycle racing. Proper maintenance, knowing the bike, understanding conditions, and staying mentally focused all help a rider make better decisions once the race begins.
A Serious Accident Changed His View of Risk
Clamon’s relationship with risk became more personal after he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident.
Recovery forced him to slow down and reconsider what progress looked like. It also challenged the idea that determination always means pushing harder.
“There were times when I wanted things to move faster than they were going to,” Clamon said. “You learn that sometimes the right decision is to be patient. That was a difficult lesson, but it’s one I’ve carried with me.”
The experience changed how he handles pressure. When a situation starts to feel overwhelming, he tries to avoid reacting to everything at once.
His approach is simple: take a breath, identify what matters most, and deal with the next problem in front of him.
“That doesn’t mean ignoring the bigger picture,” he said. “It means not letting the bigger picture stop you from making the next good decision.”
Why Good Risk-Taking Isn’t Reckless
Clamon believes people sometimes confuse confidence with certainty.
Whether someone is moving into management, suggesting a new idea, or taking on an unfamiliar responsibility, there’s rarely a guarantee that everything will work exactly as planned.
For Clamon, confidence comes from preparation and experience rather than pretending uncertainty doesn’t exist.
“Taking a risk doesn’t mean you stop thinking about the consequences,” he said. “You should understand what can go wrong, prepare for what you can, and then decide whether the risk makes sense.”
That perspective has shaped a career that moved from hands-on mechanical work into increasingly complex management responsibilities.
Clamon doesn’t see those earlier roles as separate from the work he does today. Instead, he views them as part of the experience that taught him how to judge problems, listen to people, and make decisions without overcomplicating them.
Motorcycle racing may seem far removed from fleet leadership, but for Clamon, the connection is clear.
Preparation matters before pressure arrives. Details matter when the stakes rise. And sometimes the most important skill isn’t knowing how fast to move, but knowing when to slow down.
About Robert Clamon
Robert Clamon is an Area Fleet Operations Supervisor with PG&E in San Jose, California. His career has included roles as a mechanic at San Jose BMW, General Manager at Weston’s Auto Body, and Fleet Supervisor at Monterey-Salinas Transit. His background combines hands-on automotive experience with years of management and fleet operations work.
Outside of his career, Clamon is interested in motorcycle racing, fosters miniature pigs, and is an avid dog lover. He values integrity, dependability, continuous learning, and practical problem-solving, and he credits both his professional experience and recovery from a serious motorcycle accident with shaping the way he approaches leadership and decision-making.

Ghanaian Royal and Business Delegation to Convene in Dallas for U.S.–Ghana Investment Symposium
August 22–23 Dallas forum will connect Ghanaian project leaders with U.S. investors, technology companies and strategic partners to explore major opportunities in infrastructure, Smart Cities, energy, agriculture and industrial development.

Ghana, 26th Aug 2026 – A Ghanaian royal, business and project-development delegation will convene in Dallas, Texas, on August 22–23, 2026, for a high-level U.S.–Ghana Investment Business Symposium focused on building commercial partnerships between Ghanaian project managers and leaders and American investors, infrastructure developers, technology companies and strategic business partners.
Sponsored by Mr. Nick DeSilva, the symposium will showcase a portfolio of development opportunities spanning Smart Cities, renewable energy, transportation and logistics, agricultural industrialization, mineral processing, technology, Special Economic Zones and related infrastructure.
The Dallas engagement is being coordinated with Ambassador Dr. Erick Hall Sr., PhD, who is supporting international business development, investor relations and strategic partnership discussions associated with Ghana’s Smart City and other transformational development initiatives.
“Our objective is to move the conversation from opportunity to structured engagement,” said Ambassador Dr. Erick Hall Sr., PhD. “We want qualified investors and strategic partners to examine specific projects, understand their potential and identify opportunities for responsible, commercially viable collaboration.”
A Platform for Investment and Partnership
The symposium is designed to create a focused environment for investors and project sponsors to explore potential partnerships, technology solutions, financing strategies and pathways toward technical and commercial due diligence.
Areas of focus will include:
- Artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure
- Smart City and mixed-use urban development
- Renewable and reliable energy systems
- Rail, transportation, and logistics infrastructure
- Agricultural industrialization and food-security systems
- Mineral processing and value-added manufacturing
- Special Economic Zones and export-oriented industries
- Healthcare, education, housing, hospitality, and tourism
- Data centers, fiber infrastructure, and technology ecosystems
- Climate finance, green bonds, and carbon-credit opportunities
One of the featured initiatives will be the AMALI Green Industrial Corridor, a proposed private-sector-led development platform presented by His Excellency Ambassador Joel John Rawlings, Chief Executive Officer of AMALI Holdings Ltd and SPECIAL ENVOY FOR AFRICA ON TRADE, INDUSTRY, INVESTMENT AND STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT (NWAF).
The AMALI concept seeks to integrate renewable energy, heavy-haul rail, mining and mineral processing, agriculture, logistics, ports, industrial zones and Smart City development into a coordinated regional economic platform.
According to sponsor-prepared preliminary estimates, the broader concept represents a significant long-term infrastructure investment opportunity. Detailed capital requirements, financial projections, development phases, technical assumptions and potential investment structures will be presented separately to qualified investors and strategic partners for further consideration.
The project concept is intended to support Ghana’s industrial and economic development while strengthening connections to regional markets and supply chains across West Africa.
“The AMALI concept brings together infrastructure, energy, agriculture, mineral processing and logistics within a single development framework,” said His Excellency Ambassador Joel John Rawlings. The next prepared stage subjects the opportunity to rigorous technical, commercial and financial evaluation and to identify the right partners for its development.

Building U.S.–Ghana Commercial Relationships
The delegation’s Dallas visit is intended to strengthen commercial relationships between Ghana and the United States while creating opportunities for investment, technology transfer, infrastructure development, employment and regional trade.
“This delegation comes to America with a message of partnership and responsible development,” said HRH Dr. Nana Adjoa Akyekumaa I, Development Queen Mother of Gomoa Abonko. “We welcome investors and strategic partners who share our commitment to sustainable communities, modern infrastructure and meaningful economic opportunities for Ghana and the wider region.”
The symposium is expected to facilitate investor introductions, strategic partnerships, technology discussions, feasibility and engineering engagements, potential Letters of Intent and Memoranda of Understanding, and follow-up discussions with qualified investors and corporate partners.
All projects presented through the symposium will remain subject to appropriate technical, commercial, financial, legal, environmental and regulatory evaluation. Participation in the symposium does not constitute an investment commitment, government guarantee, securities offering or final project approval.
The Dallas symposium is intended to be the beginning of a disciplined investment-development process, bringing credible projects, capital, technology and strategic expertise together to explore what can be built in Ghana and across the region.
About the Dallas Investment Business Symposium

Claimboost Launches Dedicated Resource for Australians Facing Mould-Related Insurance Disputes
Independent Australian insurance claims advocacy service offers an information-rich web page for Australians experiencing disputed, delayed, declined, or underpaid property insurance claims related to mould
United States, 26th Aug 2026 —Claimboost, the independent Australian insurance claims advocacy service that supports suitable disputed, delayed, declined, and underpaid insurance claims, today announced the launch of a dedicated online resource for Australians dealing with mould-related property insurance claim disputes. The page explains how mould damage occurs and why disputes can arise with insurers over mould-related claims.
“Mould claims can get complicated,” explained Christian Harris, a spokesperson for Claimboost. “In some cases, insurers are justified in denying coverage, but much of the time, an experienced advocate can clarify the situation and assist in getting payment for the policyholder. This is what we do.”
As the page explains, mould can develop following water ingress, storm damage, burst pipes, leaking roofs, delayed drying or inadequate make-safe work. Given that many homes and buildings are old, and it is not always clear when or how water damage occurred, insurers may dispute the claim. Further to this point, mould-related claims can be particularly difficult because mould is often a consequence of another problem rather than the original event. A mould dispute may concern where the moisture came from, how long it remained, whether the building was dried or protected appropriately, whether maintenance contributed, and whether the insurer’s reports accurately describe the conditions.
To help resolve disputed insurance claims, Claimboost may review the insurer’s decision, aim documents, reports, scopes, quotes, correspondence and other available evidence. Where appropriate, further technical evidence may be required from a suitably qualified building consultant, leak-detection specialist, hygienist, engineer or another relevant expert.
Claimboost reviews the written decision, evidence and proposed outcome before confirming whether it can assist. The firm often discovers insurer report errors in this process. Claimboost does not guarantee that advocacy will change an insurer’s decision, however. The outcome of every claim depends on its individual circumstances, evidence, and policy wording.
Dealing with a disputed, delayed, declined or underpaid insurance claim? Contact Claimboost for a free, no-obligation claim review. Claimboost will review the written decision or proposed outcome and the available evidence before confirming whether it may be able to assist.
