VidaBay Snap E-Ink Fridge Magnet – Bringing Joy to Everyday Moments
This exclusive interview focuses on VidaBay Snap battery-free e-ink fridge magnet, sticking to the core of users’ daily usage experience and life usage expectations. Targeting home daily scenarios, the product is designed to dig out precious hidden photos in users’ mobile phones, and turn those neglected digital memories into visible, warm and delightful details in everyday home life, bringing users simple, relaxing and comforting usage experience.
China, 15th May 2026 – VidaBay, a lifestyle design brand, has seen its flagship product, the Snap battery-free E-Ink fridge magnet, enter households in over 30 countries and regions since its global launch. Its unique “no charging required, always available” design has garnered widespread attention from consumers worldwide. Recently, VidaBay’s core R&D team sat down for an exclusive interview to address user concerns about product design trade-offs, usage questions, and future product plans.
I. Core Design Philosophy: Technology That Adds Joy to Life
VidaBay’s R&D engineers stated that all design decisions for the Snap revolve around the core goal of “adding more joy to life.” The team believes that good technology should be an amplifier of joy, not a burden that requires constant attention. Instead, it should seamlessly integrate into daily life, bringing small delights to ordinary days.
“Our original intention with this product was to unearth the precious moments buried in phone albums and transform them from cold digital files into joy that people can see and touch every day,” the engineer explained. “The battery-free design is Snap’s most distinctive core feature and the one that has received the most praise from users. The product is entirely NFC-powered by your phone, so it works indefinitely once stuck on the fridge, completely eliminating charging anxiety. You’ll never miss capturing or sharing a joyful moment because you forgot to charge it. Additionally, without a battery, there are no issues with aging or leakage, giving it a theoretical lifespan of over 10 years. It can accompany users in recording life’s little joys for a long time while also reducing electronic waste at the source.”

Regarding display quality concerns, the engineer further explained: The Snap uses an E Ink Spectra 3100 four-color E-Ink display, which emits no light of its own and relies on ambient light reflection for imaging. In well-lit environments, it delivers a warm texture similar to printed photos. The backlight-free design is not only a necessary requirement for the battery-free operation but also completely eliminates blue light exposure. Each photo update takes 25-30 seconds, an inherent characteristic of E-Ink display physical refresh. The four-color display is a definition of the current product form, and the companion app provides dedicated preview and filter functions to help users achieve the best display results.
II. Official Answers to Common User Questions
Pairing and NFC Transfer: Remember “Pair Once, Transfer to All”
This is the most frequently asked question by users. The engineer particularly emphasized a core principle: No matter how many VidaBay fridge magnets you own, you only need to pair once to transfer data to all of them.
Many users tend to think that after completing multiple pairing processes, they need to select the corresponding fridge magnet ID in the app for each photo transfer. In fact, this step is not required at all. If users have accumulated extra pairing records, the simplest solution is to uninstall the VidaBay Snap app, reinstall its latest version, and complete only one pairing. Following this, images can be transferred directly to any fridge magnet without the need to select an ID manually.
General Troubleshooting Steps for Transfer Failures:
1. Remove phone case: This is the most common cause. Even a thin silicone case can weaken NFC signals, while leather or metal cases will completely block transmission
2. Ensure sufficient phone battery: When the battery is below 30%, the phone will limit the power supply to the NFC module
3. Close high-power-consuming apps: Calls, video chats, and other resource-intensive applications can affect transmission stability
4. Align antennas precisely:
◦ iPhone users: Align the top-left corner of your phone with the coil area at the bottom-left corner of the fridge magnet (clearly marked on the factory protective film)
◦ Android users: NFC antenna positions vary by model; move your phone slightly to find the optimal transfer point
5. Keep still: Hold the phone in place until the “Transfer Successful” message appears; moving it mid-transfer will immediately interrupt the process
Screen Flickering is Normal E-Ink Operation
It is an inherent physical characteristic of e-ink screens to present subtle screen flickering during the image refreshing process. As a natural working mechanism of such display panels, e-ink technology relies on continuous voltage adjustments to rearrange internal pigment particles, so as to render clear, steady and high-definition visuals. This normal phenomenon does not belong to any form of product malfunction or quality issue.
Objective Explanation and Optimization Plan for Adhesion
Regarding the adhesion concerns raised by some users, the engineer explained that the magnet strength of the VidaBay Snap is within the industry’s normal design range and can firmly adhere to most traditional metal refrigerator surfaces. Due to the low magnetic permeability of glass and glass-composite refrigerator surfaces, the product’s adhesion on these surfaces will be weaker than on metal refrigerators and slightly weaker than traditional ferrite fridge magnets, which is determined by the physical properties of magnetic materials.
In response to this situation, VidaBay is optimizing its magnet formula and will increase the content of rare earth elements to further enhance the product’s overall adhesion while maintaining its current slim design, providing users with a better experience.
III. Future Product and Service Plans
VidaBay highly values every user’s feedback and will continue to improve its products and services based on the usage experience of global users.
The engineer also revealed that the Bluetooth photo dock developed specifically for Android phones has been completed. This device will be compatible with VidaBay’s higher-end E-Ink fridge magnet series scheduled to launch at the end of this year. Notably, one Bluetooth photo dock can work with different series of VidaBay E-Ink fridge magnet products, providing users with a more flexible and unified experience, allowing more people to easily share joyful moments in life.
IV. Global User Community and Official Support
VidaBay has established an official community on Reddit, r/EinkInstantFilm, which serves as a gathering place for Snap users worldwide. Users can share their works and tips, ask questions and get answers, and communicate directly with VidaBay’s engineers and product team.
To encourage users to share the joy in their lives, the community has launched a long-term exclusive promotion: Post and share on the official Reddit subreddit to receive corresponding purchase discounts.
Official Purchase Channels and Product Specifications:
The VidaBay Snap is currently available in single-pack and three-pack options. Users can purchase authentic products through the official VidaBay website (https://vidabay.net/shop/).

Closing
At the end of the interview, the VidaBay engineer said: “The Snap is more than just a fridge magnet; it’s a physical canvas that carries life’s moments. Our goal is to help people turn the photos sleeping in their phones into warmth and joy they can see every day. Thank you to all users for your understanding and support. Every piece of feedback you give is the driving force behind our progress.”

IR-MED and Dice Technologies Announce collaboration to Evaluate and Advance Pressure-Injury Prevention Platform in Japan
Rosh Pinna, Israel, September 16th, 2026, FinanceWire
- Letter of Intent (“LOI”) signed to cooperate in the evaluation, research support, localization, commercialization preparation and regulatory preparation of the PressureSafe
medical device in Japan. - Collaboration addresses a significant potential market need in Japan, which includes more than 36 million people aged 65 and older and approximately 8,000 hospitals, 13,600 long-term care facilities, and 16,000+ home-visit nursing stations.
- Strategic collaboration combines IR-MED’s infrared spectroscopy technology and proprietary algorithm with Dice Technologies’ capabilities in coordinating clinical evaluation, localization and regulatory preparation activities in Japan.
- Clinical research and evidence-generation activities are expected to include cooperation with the Department of Plastic Surgery at Kobe University, subject to required ethics review, institutional approvals and separate written arrangements.
IR-MED Ltd. (OTC: IRME) (the “Company” or “IR-Med”), developer of infrared spectroscopy-based medical device technology,, and Dice Technologies Co., Ltd., a leading Japanese healthcare digital transformation and medical IT provider, today announced the signing of a LOI. The LOI sets forth a framework for the parties to cooperate in the evaluation, research support, localization, commercialization preparation and regulatory preparation of IR-MED’s PressureSafe
device for the Japanese market. Except for certain provisions relating to confidentiality and data protection, intellectual property rights, and device management, return and disposal, the LOI is not intended to create legally binding obligations between the parties.
Ultimately, the partnership is driven by a shared, transformative vision: Build pressure-injury prevention platform — device, AI, and EHR systems unified across hospitals, LTC, and home care nation wide
The parties intend to evaluate PressureSafe
for use in hospitals, long-term care facilities and home healthcare settings in Japan, with a focus on supporting the assessment of early signs of pressure injuries.
PressureSafe
is a medical device that uses infrared technology to support the assessment of early changes associated with pressure injuries and skin conditions. It provides real-time, on-site, non-thermal and blood-flow-related indicators intended to support, and not replace, the clinical judgment of nurses and physicians. PressureSafe
combines infrared spectroscopy with a proprietary algorithm and is intended to support the assessment of early signs of pressure injuries.
Market Need in Japan
Japan is facing an unprecedented demographic and systemic challenge. With an aging population of 36.19 million individuals aged 65 and older (29.4% of the total population), national care expenditures have reached a record ¥11.94 trillion. Concurrently, the healthcare sector is bracing for a projected shortage of hundreds of thousands of nurses and approximately 300,000 care workers.
This convergence of an aging population and severe workforce shortages has driven a significant increase in the prevalence of pressure injuries—particularly in the rapidly growing home care sector, which reports a 1.93% prevalence rate. To address this, Japan requires scalable, technology-assisted care solutions across its approximately 8,000 hospitals (1.2 million beds), 13,600 long-term care facilities (1.0 million residents), and 18,042 home-visit nursing agencies.
A complementary Strategic Synergy
The collaboration between IR-MED and Dice Technologies represents a highly complementary alignment of technological innovation and domestic operational mastery.
- The Technology & Science Engine (IR-MED): IR-MED brings its proprietary PressureSafe
sensors, predictive AI algorithms, and a foundation of global clinical data. The technology addresses the crucial “Layer 1” of early risk assessment—sub-epidermal tissue health—providing objective metrics to a field that has historically relied on subjective visual observation. - The Domestic Commercial & Integration Leader (Dice Technologies): Dice Technologies will lead and coordinate the evaluation program in Japan. Leveraging an established nationwide footprint serving over 1,000 clinics well-distributed across Japan, Dice Technologies will support Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (“PMDA”) consultation preparation and regulatory communications in Japan.. Crucially, Dice Technologies bridges the gap between device and daily workflow by integrating PressureSafe
data into its existing CareNest platform and domestic Electronic Health Records (“EHR” ), creating a seamless data flow from the hospital to the patient’s home.
Phased Rollout and Clinical Validation
The partnership will execute a highly structured, reverse L-shaped Go-to-Market strategy. The initial phase will focus on real-world evaluations in long-term care (“LTC”) and home-visit settings to generate clinical utility data and user feedback.
Simultaneously, the partners will advance rigorous clinical research and PMDA consultation to support the regulatory pathway for PressureSafe
in Japan. This validation process will be bolstered by anticipated cooperation with Japanese clinical leaders, including the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Kobe University, subject to required ethics review, institutional approvals and separate written arrangements.
Executive Commentary
Ken Ishiga, President and Representative Director of Dice Technologies Co., Ltd., stated, “Japan’s care crisis cannot be solved with isolated tools. We must unify prevention, observation, and discharge support. By combining IR-MED’s extraordinary ‘sensing the invisible’ technology with our EHR integrations and CareNest platform, we are delivering on our shared vision to build a continuous, patient-centered care infrastructure that supports our overstretched healthcare workforce over the long term.”
“Entering the Japanese market requires more than just groundbreaking technology; it requires a deep integration into the local care ecosystem. In Dice Technologies, we have found the perfect partner,” said Dr. Yaniv Cohen, Interim CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of IR-MED. “Their expertise in medical IT, their impressive footprint serving over 1,000 care facilities, and their ability to navigate PMDA regulations make them the ideal catalyst for PressureSafe
. Together, we are not just evaluating a device; we are working toward a new national standard for objective, preventive care.”
