BOOX Releases Firmware V4.2 with EinkWise, Calendar Sync and Better Handwriting
New York, United States, 4th May 2026 – BOOX has released Firmware V4.2, the latest system update for BOOX ePaper tablets. The release focuses on practical improvements across three everyday areas: how the screen behaves in different third-party apps, how planning works when you rely on multiple calendars, and how long-form handwriting and reading workflows feel over time.

A faster way to get the screen “just right”
Every app looks a little different on ePaper, and getting comfortable settings often takes trial and error. With Firmware V4.2, BOOX adds EinkWise Code, a preset system that lets users apply a proven combination of refresh and display parameters in one step. Codes can be shared, so teams and communities can standardize settings for the third-party apps they use most.
BOOX Firmware V4.2 also improves visual handling for graphics and scanned content with Image Smoothing. When the device is running HD or Regal refresh mode, Image Smoothing can be switched on in EinkWise. The same option is available inside NeoReader for documents such as PDF, EPUB, and MOBI.
Planning that matches how people actually use calendars
Many users split their schedule across services. Firmware V4.2 expands Calendar Memo so it can pull in calendars from Google Calendar, Outlook, and CalDAV, then surface them in one place under Events. After signing in, changes made on the BOOX device can sync back to the original calendar source.
To reduce the distance between “writing it down” and “putting it on the calendar,” Firmware V4.2 adds a shortcut from handwritten notes. Select content with the Lasso tool and convert it into an event or reminder, so handwritten ideas can become scheduled tasks without retyping.
Handwriting tools built for longer sessions
For users who take extensive handwritten notes, BOOX Firmware V4.2 introduces two upgrades aimed at reducing friction.
●Template Hub: download templates to match different note styles and use cases.
●Scroll Layout: write on a continuously extending vertical canvas instead of splitting thoughts across multiple pages. This format is well suited for long-form writing, large diagrams, and long screenshots.
Firmware V4.2 also refines core writing interactions. Users can adjust Pen brush pressure sensitivity, the Eraser is easier to see, and the system can return to the previously used writing tool after erasing. The Lasso workflow has been expanded as well, with support for moving selections between layers and setting whether the tool switches back to the brush after a selection. Selections remain active while dragging or zooming.
Additional updates
The AI Assistant in NeoReader now supports questions based not only on highlighted text, but also on vector graphics and stylus-circled regions, returning responses intended to provide context and references. The Notes app floating toolbar can also be repositioned and docked by pressing and dragging.
Firmware V4.2 is rolling out in batches. Availability may vary by model and region, and devices may receive the update at different times.

BridgeYear’s Energy Expressway Cohort Graduates 29 Students, Delivers Job Offers
Through targeted workplace preparation, hands-on training, and direct corporate partner access, BridgeYear positions underserved youth to immediately fill critical energy and infrastructure roles. BridgeYear Proves Industry-Ready Talent Pipeline Model as Inaugural Energy Expressway Cohort Achieves 97% Completion and Immediate Job Offers.
Houston, TX, United States, 3rd Oct 2026 — BridgeYear, a leading Houston-based nonprofit connecting underserved youth to careers and educational pathways, announced the successful completion of its inaugural Energy Expressway cohort. Out of 30 participating students, 29 earned industry-recognized certifications following two weeks of intensive, hands-on training at CenterPoint Energy’s HO Training Facility—with more than half of the graduates already receiving conditional job offers and additional interviews ongoing.

Built in collaboration with BridgeYear’s partners, Energy Expressway serves as a model for scalable, employer-driven workforce development. Students completed hands-on training across four high-growth pathways: Renewable Energy, Gas Operations, Lineman Skills, and Electrical Work.
To bridge the gap between technical skill and employer expectations, BridgeYear provided a curriculum on workplace preparation. BridgeYear Advisors worked closely with candidates to research employers, map their hands-on training directly onto industry-aligned resumes, and practice communicating their value using the STAR Method.
Students put their preparation to the test by participating in 1-on-1 mock interviews with corporate volunteers from CenterPoint Energy, Quanta Services, Inc., Greater Houston Partnership, Hays Electrical Services, Phillips 66, Texas Mutual Insurance Company, and NRG Energy. From there, candidates stepped straight into formal, first-round interviews with company Talent Acquisition teams.
“Students cannot choose careers they have never seen, and employers need talent that can deliver value from day one,” said Victoria Chen, Co-Founder and Executive Director of BridgeYear. “Energy Expressway shows the power of collaborative workforce solutions. By combining technical training with BridgeYear’s rigorous workplace readiness coaching, we ensure our graduates are fully prepared, confident professionals ready to contribute to Houston-area organizations.”
With regional industries actively searching for dependable, job-ready talent, the Energy Expressway model offers a proven playbook for early-career recruitment. Looking ahead to the Class of 2026, BridgeYear plans to expand its apprenticeship cohort programming to give more local employers direct access to a strong, diverse talent pipeline built on practical training and real-world preparation.

SPF Rongchang Pigs Make Their Debut at Global Landmarks, Putting “China Collagen” in the Global Spotlight
New York, USA / Timesnewswire / October 3, 2026 – On October 1, Beijing Time, New York’s Times Square, known as the “crossroads of the world,” was bustling with pedestrians and traffic. One of the most dazzling landmarks in Times Square, the Nasdaq digital billboard, featured a series of visuals centered on SPF Rongchang pigs, instantly capturing the attention of numerous passersby.

(Location: Times Square, New York)
Against a vibrant festive “Chinese red” background, three adorable Rongchang pigs poked their heads into view on the giant poster: their rosy faces, bright black eyes, and distinctive “panda eyes” around the eyes created a charming contrast with the golden fireworks blooming in the background. The Chinese slogan “The world looks to China for collagen, and China’s collagen comes from Rongchang” and the English tagline “CHINA · RONGCHANG—A NEW SOURCE OF COLLAGEN” stood out prominently.
The “panda pigs” of Rongchang appearing alongside iconic landmarks created a striking visual fusion of cuteness and contemporary style. Passersby were drawn to this charming and confident presence from the East, some stopping to gaze, while others raised their phones to capture the rare moment.
In addition to New York’s Times Square, SPF Rongchang pigs also made appearances at Leicester Square in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, and Baima Hang in Macao. This spectacular global campaign was not only an impressive showcase of China’s biotechnology, but also an industry statement transcending borders—the powerful declaration that “the world looks to China for collagen, and China’s collagen comes from Rongchang” has demonstrated China’s industrial strength in technological innovation to the world, further enhancing the global recognition and influence of SPF Rongchang pigs in the field of biomaterials.

It is understood that in June this year, the collagen implant “Jiaoyuan Shaonv® COLLARRIA®,” developed by Chongqing Fanghe Biotechnology Co., Ltd., obtained the Class III Medical Device Registration Certificate from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), with Registration Certificate No. “Guoxie Zhuzhun 20263131252.” The product consists of Type I collagen purified from the skin of SPF Rongchang pigs.

From overcoming the two core technologies of sterile cesarean delivery and sterile breeding to establishing a fully integrated chain covering “breeding—purification—farming—medical biomaterial production,” every step toward independent control has been hard-won. This breakthrough was destined to face multiple challenges, requiring not only the courage to venture and innovate, but also the perseverance to pursue a long-term goal with unwavering determination. By securing control over key links such as genetic resources, technology, and standards, and by promoting collaboration across the industry alliance and the commercialization of research achievements, China can firmly take the initiative in its own hands in the field of high-end biomaterials.
From the breeding bases in Rongchang, Chongqing, to the “crossroads of the world,” these “panda pigs” are carrying the calling card of “China Collagen” and steadily making their own mark on the international stage.
