Experts at conference held at the Church of Scientology of Rome, make the point on the state of freedom of belief in Italy and the world

Published

on

University professors, government officials, parliamentarians and religious representatives participated in a day-long conference where they discussed the current challenges to religious freedom.

Brussels, Brussels, Belgium, 3rd Jun 2024 – On Thursday, May 30th, the international conference on freedom of religion in Italy and the world, titled “Freedom of Belief and Religious Recognition: Current State and Perspectives,” was held in the auditorium of the Church of Scientology in Rome. It was organized with the collaboration of the Observatory on Religious Entities, Ecclesiastical Heritage, and Non-Profit Organizations of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.”

The conference consisted of two international roundtables in the morning moderated by Prof. Alfonso Celotto, professor of constitutional law at the University of Roma Tre, and two national ones moderated by Prof. Antonio Fuccillo, professor of ecclesiastical and intercultural law at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.”

International examples of religious freedom

The first panel had as speakers Senator Lorena Rios Cuéllar, former director of religious affairs of the Colombian government; Prof. José Daniel Pelayo Olmedo, deputy director general for the coordination and promotion of religious freedom of the Spanish government; and Dr. Gary Vachicouras, professor and administrator of academic affairs at the Institute for Postgraduate Studies in Orthodox Theology (Chambésy, Geneva).

This panel outlined the situation in Colombia, a secular but not atheist state with a constitution that guarantees freedom of religion both individually and collectively. It then covered that of Spain, where there are 26,000 religious groups registered in the Register of Religious Bodies. For the Greek-born Prof. Vachicouras, societies are increasingly facing religious plurality and the resulting problems. The solution to conflicts, he stated, is acceptance of the principle of freedom of belief. The panel showed how three countries with different traditions (Colombia, Spain, and Greece) have recognized their religious entities, including Scientology, within a framework of great freedom and inclusion.

The second panel included U.S. attorney and constitutional expert Austin Hepworth; Prof. Juan Ferreiro Galguera, professor of church law at the University of Oviedo, Spain; and Prof. Vincent Berger, former jurisconsult at the European Court of Human Rights.

Attorney Hepworth explained how the principle of religious freedom is applied in the U.S., also recalling the 1948 U.S.-Italy Friendship Treaty on automatic mutual recognition of entities, including religious ones. Prof. Ferreiro Galguera explained the difference between the secular state that respects religious phenomena and the cooperation with it as it happens in Spain, and the secularist state that instead prevents it, as it happens in France.

Prof. Berger asserted that the state’s tolerance of a religious denomination should not replace its full recognition, and he recalled the remedies offered by the ECHR on limitations of religious freedom, with the possibility of recourse to the Strasbourg Court as well.

Italian situation of religious freedom under analysis

The speakers at the first section of this panel were Prof. Maria D’Arienzo, professor of ecclesiastical, canonical, and confessional law at the University “Federico II” of Naples; Prof. Gianfranco Macrì, professor of intercultural law at the University of Salerno; and Prof. Francesco Sorvillo, associate professor of Law and Religions at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli.”

The peculiarity of the Italian normative situation emerged, in that the Constitution addresses religious freedom in 4 specific articles and in 5 with a more general approach, yet it still lacks a law on religious denominations, still having to refer to Law No. 1159, which dates back to 1929, and which concerns “admitted denominations” in the “Kingdom of Italy”, a law that predates the republican democracy that is Italy today.

The second section of this panel featured the editor-in-chief of “bitterwinter.org” and journalist for the “Journal of CESNUR,” Dr. Marco Respinti; Dr. Nader Akkad, religious affairs advisor of the Grand Mosque of Rome; and Mother Anastasia, legal advisor of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese.

Dr. Respinti explained how the media perceive religiosity and their own responsibility on how it is perceived in society. Dr. Akkad emphasized the importance of dialogue between members of different faiths, while Mother Anastasia spoke about the difficulty of the Romanian Orthodox Church working on recognition in Italy for over 13 years.

What emerged overall was the need for greater attention to the religious phenomenon for accomplished regulation not only at the level of individuals but also of organizations in their relations with states.

Freedom of religion and respect for the beliefs of others have always been principles of fundamental importance to the Church of Scientology,” recalled Lina Pirotta, representative of the Church of Scientology Italy, in her welcome address to the conference participants.

The Creed of the Church of Scientology itself, written in 1954 by the religion’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, among other points states, “We of the Church believe that all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance.”

It is within this framework that the Church of Scientology has strongly supported this conference, collaborating with domestic and foreign experts to make it happen in order to provide a clearer picture of the state of freedom of belief in Italy and other countries, and the possible solutions that could help make, of this fundamental right, a fulfilled reality, favoring its development.

Staying true to the brand’s consistent blend of elegance and casual wear, this series aims to build a high-quality wardrobe for women aged 45 and above, as well as loyal fans.

Precision Targeting for Mature Needs: Seven Color Palettes Interpret Elevated Fashion Aesthetics

Zeagoo has a profound understanding of the dressing needs of women aged over 45, who seek a blend of comfort, appropriateness, and fashion. This season’s autumn/winter new arrivals take “sophistication and practicality” as the core design concept, eschewing complexity and focusing on fabric texture and exquisite tailoring. The series introduces seven classic color palettes: elegant purple, vibrant green, sophisticated gray, gentle beige-brown, bright orange, serene blue, and radiant red. These colors can be paired in a single hue to highlight a sophisticated style or freely mixed and matched to showcase individuality, easily catering to various scenarios such as commuting, outings, and gatherings, and providing mature women with more diverse and effortless choices for their daily wear.

Three Core Pieces Shine, Showcasing Autumn/Winter Fashion Aesthetics

Among the new autumn/winter releases, three core pieces have garnered significant attention for their practical designs and versatile appeal, becoming standout choices for the season.

  1. Magenta Mesh Long-Sleeved Top

Featuring a mock neck and sheer mesh sleeves, this top strikes a balance between elegance and subtle sensuality. Layered ruffled cuts contour the body for gentle shaping. The soft, stretchy fabric ensures comfort against the skin, making it suitable for various occasions, from office wear to parties.

  1. Knit Vest Sweater

The relaxed fit effectively skims the abdomen and hip area, making it particularly friendly for pear-shaped figures. The V-neck design elongates the neckline, while the side slit hem adds detailed dimension. It can be worn alone or layered over a shirt for a polished look. Paired with jeans, a midi skirt, and boots, it combines warmth and style effortlessly.

  1. Black High-Waist Satin Midi Skirt

Crafted from skin-friendly, breathable satin with a high-waist cut, this skirt optimizes body proportions. The minimalist design highlights the natural sheen of the satin, making it a year-round staple. Whether for daily outings or special events, it exudes an elegant and luxurious charm.

Confidently Showcasing Versatile Style, Redefining Autumn/Winter Wardrobe Aesthetics

From polished office wear for autumn days to relaxed weekend gatherings, and even glamorous holiday parties, this season’s Zeagoo collection combines quality fabrics for warmth and precise cuts to outline an elegant silhouette. Without the need for excessive layering, a single thoughtfully designed piece can effortlessly elevate the entire look, empowering women 45+ to express themselves confidently in various settings and reinterpret the new meaning of autumn/winter dressing—where “comfort and elegance coexist.”

This not only created a unique brand experience but also resonated deeply with the core spirit of racing culture.

Eye-Catching Booth: Differentiated Interactions Create a Hotspot

The COOFANDY booth, featuring the brand’s signature colors as its main visual, displayed model cars with racing livery and the apparel collection. Interactive elements like a popcorn machine and photo printer fostered a lively and relaxed vibe, attracting numerous spectators. Standing out among surrounding booths predominantly featuring categories like engines and beer, COOFANDY, as the sole apparel sponsor, distinguished itself with its unique positioning, becoming a popular photo spot on site. Visitors actively participated in interactions to win merchandise and took photos in front of the booth.

Track-side, the COOFANDY Victory Angels cheerleading models, wearing outfits that blended brand and racing elements and holding brand flags, cheered for driver Christopher Bell throughout the race. Their unified chants, intertwined with the roar of engines, further communicated the “Dress the Journey, Dress the Win” brand philosophy, creating a dynamic spectacle alongside the track.

Popular Engagement: Connecting with Racing Glory, Embodying the Brand Spirit

The meet-and-greet session on race day was also buzzing with excitement. Driver Christopher Bell and team founder Joe Gibbs visited with COOFANDY guests, interacting enthusiastically with fans and media. The subsequent photos and autographs further brought our guests closer to the sport. COOFANDY CMO Sidney Sun was also invited to try on a Super Bowl championship ring—a moment that touched the pinnacle of sports glory and closely linked the brand with the prestige of top-tier motorsports.

Guests also accessed the Pit & Garage area, observing race tires, pit equipment, and team haulers up close. Through professional explanations, they gained an immersive understanding of the intricate operations behind the scenes.

Race Climax: High-Octane Action Blended with Heartwarming Charity

The excitement escalated with the driver red-carpet ceremony. Once the race began, the high-speed track battles, combined with roaring engines and crowd cheers, created a fever-pitch atmosphere, while the COOFANDY Victory Angels continued cheering for Bell from the stands. Coinciding with “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” the impactful pink livery on the pace car added a touch of humanity and care to the intense competition. Post-race, the COOFANDY team sincerely thanked the attending guests, media, and spectators, showcasing the brand’s warmth.

Shared Belief: Victory Lies in the Journey, Style Reflects the Spirit

Although Bell ultimately didn’t claim the win, his consistent performance earned him a P7 finish. Behind this result were his unwavering resilience and focus on the track. Just as COOFANDY interprets “Dress the Win”: it belongs not only to the glorious moment of crossing the finish line but also shines through every all-out effort along the journey. And “Dress the Journey” means using apparel as a medium to accompany every striver in facing challenges with poise, allowing the quality and attitude of their attire to become an internalized force for moving forward with determination.

AVIDLOVE Teams Up with Know Your Lemons to Launch the Pink Guardian Initiative, Spreading Breast Health Care Through Fashion

Published

on

In an era where women’s health is receiving increasing attention, the issue of breast health, which is crucial for both life and beauty, has become even more significant. Recently, the well-known lingerie brand AVIDLOVE joined forces with the international breast health charity Know Your Lemons Foundation to launch a three-month “Pink Care Campaign” and simultaneously introduce a limited-edition collaboration series. This initiative deeply integrates fashion design with philanthropic concepts, injecting warmth and strength into the global cause of breast health.

Influencers Speak Out: From Illness to Empowerment, Redefining Beauty

As a breast cancer survivor and Instagram influencer, Piper Landon shared her personal journey in an exclusive interview. She emphasized the critical importance of early health awareness and hoped that her story could inspire more women to listen to their bodies and take proactive care of themselves. Piper specifically pointed out that brand participation in health education can create a “ripple effect,” making discussions about women’s health more commonplace and conveying the message that “women are valued as whole individuals.” During her recovery, she redefined beauty and self-worth: “I’ve learned to see strength in my scars and no longer define myself by appearance.” She believes that fashion and beauty can serve as rituals for regaining self-identity on the road to recovery.

Her experience resonates with AVIDLOVE’s philosophy of “beauty and health going hand in hand,” offering warmth and inspiration to more women in recovery.

Pink Limited Edition: A Thoughtful Blend of Beauty and Health

Beyond emotional resonance, AVIDLOVE is also committed to integrating health knowledge into daily life. The AVIDLOVE × Know Your Lemons Pink Limited Edition series, launched as part of this campaign, includes a range of items such as lace-trimmed nightgowns, sheer pajama sets, floral-print chemise dresses, and Y2K-style tank tops. Featuring a soft pink color palette and lace elements that highlight feminine grace, these pieces combine design aesthetics with comfort, catering to both everyday wear and emotional healing needs.

Notably, all collaboration products come with a Breast Health Self-Examination Guide Card and a Heartwarming Fortune Card. The guide card presents self-examination steps in a simple and easy-to-understand manner, lowering the barrier to health monitoring. The fortune card carries the brand’s encouragement and blessings for women, adding emotional warmth to the wearing experience. Consumers can purchase these items through AVIDLOVE’s official website, contributing to the cause of breast health.

Philanthropy Woven into Brand DNA: Fashion Can Be Full of Love

As a socially responsible brand, AVIDLOVE has pledged to donate 10% of the sales revenue from the collaboration series to the Know Your Lemons Foundation. These funds will support global breast health education and charity projects.

Additionally, AVIDLOVE encourages ordinary users to share their stories related to the brand and health. Multiple everyday users have posted “unboxing + self-examination guide” content on social media, sharing how a single piece of lingerie has prompted them to refocus on their own health. These stories collectively form a heartwarming picture of contemporary women’s self-awareness and mutual support.

Pleasing Others and Pleasing Oneself: Empowering Women from the Heart

Pleasing others while also pleasing oneself has always been a gentle yet firm commitment women make to themselves. Through the Pink Guardian Initiative, AVIDLOVE transforms fashion from mere external adornment into a carrier of health care and women’s empowerment. The soft touch of each collaboration item, the thoughtful reminders on every self-examination guide, and the warmth flowing from every donation all convey the message that “loving oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”

The brand believes that true beauty stems from the confidence of good health and inner certainty. This three-month-long philanthropic campaign is not only a convergence of fashion and charity but also a response to and support for women’s strength. It encourages every woman to listen to her body, cherish her uniqueness, and shine her own light in love and being loved. In the future, AVIDLOVE will remain steadfast in its philanthropic mission, ensuring that fashion carries warmth and health becomes the norm, accompanying women on their journey of self-love with grace, courage, and radiance.
