Comcast Completes Major Fiber Network Expansion in Spring Hill, Kansas

Comcast announced today the completed expansion of its next-generation Xfinity network to homes and businesses in the City of Spring Hill. The media and technology company invested more than $13 million to install more than 90 miles of new fiber-rich highways that will offer residential broadband speeds faster than 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) and business speeds up to 100 Gbps. The completion is part of Comcasts ongoing expansion in the Midwest where Comcast is also expanding into Paola/Hillsdale.
The Kelly-Toland Administration recognizes that building reliable broadband services is essential for healthy communities throughout the state, Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. With the completion of this project, the Spring Hill community now has the resources needed to stay connected and engaged and help drive economic development.
"The City of Spring Hill joins Comcast in celebrating the completion of this investment in our community. It will support workforce development, education and greater access to high-speed internet for our residents. This was a big priority of this administration from the start, and Im glad to see it through to becoming a reality. It also improves our internet infrastructure in a way that is attractive to businesses interested in growing here," said Mayor Joe Berkey, City of Spring Hill. I am grateful for Comcasts commitment to expanding broadband access to Spring Hill and also their continued commitment to sponsoring other Spring Hill community events throughout the year.
To celebrate the expansion of Xfinity services to the City of Spring Hill, Comcast will donate $5,000 to the Spring Hill Education Foundation and will host an Xfinity On Tour event during the Spring Hill Recreation Center Daffodil Days on April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST at the Spring Hill Learning Academy at 300 E. Street. This free, family-oriented community event provides residents the opportunity to learn more about Comcast services, answer questions, and take advantage of exclusive offers. Kinetiko Energy Ltd (ASX:KKO, OTC:KKOEF) CEO Nick de Blocq joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion after the company became the first to produce power from onshore domestic gas in South Africa.
Kinetiko successfully demonstrated power production from a gas well at Amersfoort in cooperation with FFS Refiners by constructing a fully compliant gas train on-site to feed a 1.2MW gas generator.
De Blockq said the milestone is significant for alleviating the country's energy crisis. The process involved significant compliance efforts, including studies, professional engineering approvals, and equipment importation.
Kinetiko Energy's current focus is not on commercial power production but on using its gas to support field operations. The company's pilot project involves a five-well cluster, with plans to expand to a 30-well LNG cluster in partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The pilot aims to produce 5,000 tonnes of LNG per annum from each ten-well grouping, with a long-term goal of 60,000 tonnes per annum from around 100 wells.
Kinetiko recently announced a A$5 million fundraising effort to support gas exploration across three South African provinces. The raised funds will help the company meet its exploration obligations and drill five appraisal wells by Q3 2024.
De Blocq highlighted the environmental benefits of their clean gas, which contains 99% methane and no harmful impurities. He emphasized the potential of Kinetiko's world-class gas resource to significantly impact South Africa's energy landscape.

Match System’s CEO Andrei Kutin Announces Full Recovery of $68 mln Stolen Crypto Assets
Summary: $68 million from the incident occurred on May 3, 2024 related to the “dust” attack were fully returned to the victim today with the participation of the cybersecurity agency Match Systems and the Cryptex cryptocurrency exchange. At the moment, the victim has no complaints against the attacker.
On May 3, 2024, one of the crypto whales became a victim of a classic dust attack (or “dandruff attack”) resulting in the theft of 1,155.28 WBTC, worth over $68 million.
The stolen tokens were received by an unknown scammer to the address 0xd9A1C3788D81257612E2581A6ea0aDa244853a91, from which the funds were moved to the address 0xfB5bcA56A3824E58A2c77217fb667AE67000b7A6. After which the stolen funds began to be distributed in parts to several scammer’s addresses.
The victim immediately sought assistance from Match Systems. As a result of promptly conducted work, the assets were found and returned to the crypto whale in full in just a week.
This incident perfectly demonstrates that promptly contacting specialists in case of theft of crypto assets significantly increases the chances of the crypto fraud victim to get them back. Moreover, the earlier the victim seeks help, the higher the probability of getting the stolen funds back in full.
