Stora Enso makes new packaging materials division

Stora Enso has reported designs to make another packaging materials division, starting at 1 January 2020, which will likewise make changes to the board.

The Finland-based company will merge its holder board business in its packaging arrangements division with its purchaser board division, making another packaging materials unit.

Because of the move, the rest of the business in packaging arrangements together with Stora Enso’s as of late made framed fiber unit, will comprise a progressively engaged bundling arrangements division.

“The packaging materials division will provide an even stronger customer offering for converters, brand owners and retailers containing both virgin and recycled board material,” said Stora Enso President and CEO Annica Bresky.

Bresky included: “For packaging solutions, we are increasing our focus on growing new services and packaging solutions as well as innovation collaborations throughout the value chain for developing new renewable packaging. One example is our new formed fibre business, which will be included in the packaging solutions division. We will also be able to focus more on renewable packaging design.”

As a major aspect of the change, the packaging and paper maker has additionally designated Hannu Kasurinen as official VP and leader of the buyer board with quick impact. Starting at 1 January 2020, Kasurinen will likewise fill in as official VP and head of packaging materials.

Already, Kasurinen has filled in as SVP of fluid bundling and container board in the buyer board division and has held a few authority positions at Stora Enso including bunch treasurer, SVP of procedure and EVP of the wood items division.

Kasurinen stated: “I am looking forward to continuing to build our packaging materials business together with our customers. Circularity is an integral part of Stora Enso’s business and a key driver for our product development. We will continue to innovate and answer consumers’ expectations for renewable, recyclable, fibre-based packaging materials with a low carbon footprint.”

Gilles van Nieuwenhuyzen will leave his situation as official VP of packaging arrangements, and current SVP and head of ridged nordics in the division will take on the job as acting head of packaging arrangements during the change.
